August Cabrama a Ou ng I made personal history by being the first to arrive, and felt that I must somehow be at the wrong place. A er a short me others arrived and we white Anglo Saxons commenced our tour. Having coffee was an interes ng experience. The two waitresses found it a bit overwhelming and began to deliver our orders one coffee at a me. The barista would write the contents on the bo om of each cup, so the waitress had to hold each cup above her head to read it, quite amusing to us old dummies. Cabrama a shopping area is another country where all signage is predominantly Asian and bread shops, jewellers, tex le vendors, dress shops and cheap importers are in abundance. Many of these shops are only two metres wide, except in the arcades where the small shops exist. The ladies took us to a nice restaurant where the food was very tasty and reasonably priced. Thanks to Jim Allingham for arranging an interes ng and enjoyable ou ng. Vale Barb Bosher Barbara died at 3pm on Saturday 28th July 2018, she was 81. She attended Fort St Girls School & went on to Teachers College before teaching home science and biology at various schools including Marsden High School. Norm and Barb joined the club in August 1987. They then purchased a 1928 Model A phaeton in 1988. Barb and Norm were very active club members, having organised somewhere in the vicinity of 48 events between December 2006 & February 2012. Over the years Barbara was an active Wanderer and was affectionately known as Mrs Lunch A lot. She really did enjoy the company of club members and all the outings. In recognition of her contribution to the club she was awarded Club Person of the Year in 2011 and was Club Vice President in 2012. Her final event is yet to occur, an overnight visit to Mayfield Gardens, Oberon coming up in November this year. This event is going ahead in memory of Barb. We all send Norm and the Bosher family our best wishes, and will all miss Barb terribly. Rest in Peace Barb, you were a dedicated Model A er and a loving Australian. Our man Alan Hale was competing again at this years Gresford Mudrun in his modified Model A Phaeton. Go Alan and family. Warbo s done it again in the US... This morning 8 Model A Fords met at friend s residence so we could all drive down town to muster for the Parade. Whilst tweeking Sheila, for her Big day out in the Parade, I noticed this AA Ford Truck drive down the road & it pulled up out side the house. I turned around and was gob smacked by this magnificent 1930 AA Ford 1 ton truck, in all it s glory & almost original Patina. I dropped every thing that I was doing & walked on over to introduce my self to the owner/driver, then most of all to have a closer look at this vehicle. To cut a long story short & don t ask me how or why, I am now the proud owner of this vehicle. Tomorrow I meet with the owner to finalise the deal & then make arrangements to de asbestos the truck before I ship it back to Sydney town. This vehicle is a real coup for me because I have always had a soft spot for the AA Ford truck. The reason why is that years ago I was watching a documentary on how they built the Hoover dam and the vehicles working to build the Hoover Dam were AA Ford Trucks. That was the moment in my life when I decided that one day I would own one of these work horses. Guess what!!! Today is that day, I am so excited with my purchase I am almost beside myself. What s more these AA Ford Trucks are very few and far between in Australia. So that is my story for today, I hope you enjoyed it. Cheers from Santa Clarita., California. Warbo. N.B. I am only the 3rd owner of this vehicle from new with all the history carefully recorded.
