Fitting instructions T-Flex Flexi Tank for Trucks 1
What is T-Flex? T-Flex is a special flexi tank designed to carry non hazardous liquids in trucks. Allows return loads of liquids when conventional cargo is not available. Robust design provides a stabilized load. 2
Preparations Ensure that the truck is no older than 5 years. Ensure that the truck is in excellent condition. Ensure that lashing rings are in good condition. No damages on the floor or side walls. Food grade trucks only - free of odors. Sweep the truck with a broom carefully. Ensure that nails and other sharp objects are removed from the floor and the sides. Cover potential uneven areas on the floor with duck tape (thick tape). Ensure that nails and other objects that may damage/puncture the T-flex are removed or covered with duck tape (thick tape). 3
Protection Use carton boards to cover the sharp metals in the truck. Ensure that corners and tent frame pillars are well covered. Ensure that front wall is well covered and resistant to a possible pressure. 4
Fitting Open the bag and ensure that the following, are in the package: 1. Lining fabric 2. Warning labels, 3. T-Flex 4. 2 pieces of metallic buckles 5. Carton board 5 5
Fitting Unfold the lining fabric in the truck to cover front and side walls. Make sure laminated/smooth side of the fabric faces with the flexitank. Fix the fabric with duct tape. 6
Fitting Unfold the T-Flex in the truck. Make sure T-Flex is placed at the center of the trailer. 7
Fitting Ensure that the front of T- Flex is leaning to the front of the truck/nose of the container. DO NOT remove the prefolding tapes. DO NOT open the folds. Open out the folded two door side of the T-Flex in order to reveal the valve. 8
Buckling T-flex needs to get fixed to the trailer as shown in the diagram below. The main target of tying is to prevent the T-flex from moving forward & backward on the floor. In case of a sudden break, the movement towards the doors is critical. Please observe the diagram below and ensure that the belts are fixed to the lashing loops at similar angles as shown in the diagram below. VALVE BELTS 9
Buckling Make a small cut on lining fabric to pick out the lashing ring. There are two free ends of the belt on each side. Take the one which comes underneath the T-Flex. Pass the belt through the lashing ring. Put the free end of belts over the top of the T-Flex 10
Buckling There are two free end of the belts on each side of the R-Flex. Follow the steps 1-2-3-4 for the belt at the top. Follow the steps 5-6-7-8 for the other belt. 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 11
Buckle Location Ensure that both of the buckles are clear off the side wall. Buckle trapped between flexitank and wall 12
Filling T-flex has 3 cam lock male valve. Upon request 2 reductor is available Use appropriate female coupling at your hose. 13
Filling Fix the coupling to the valve Open the valve Start filling 14
Filling START FILLING DO NOT pump air inside the flexitank during filling 15
Filling WARNING: Ensure that the start up speed of pumping does not exceed 300 lt. /min until the T-flex rises to an approximate height of 10cm (roughly the first 1-2,000 liters), then increase the speed up to 800lt/min. Please ensure that the filling stations follow this instruction carefully. 16
Bonnet Closure... 1 2 3 4 Protective Bonnet has two layers of plastic film. Both layers must be tied separately. 1. Push the outer layer back to expose the inner layer. 2. Twist and wrap the 1st inner layer. 3. Knot it. 4. Pull the 2nd outer layer. 5. Twist and wrap the 2nd outer layer. 6. Knot it. 5 6 rev04-150515 17
Lashing Before sealing the container doors, tighten both lashing straps. It is highly recommended that put a piece of cardboard between metallic buckle and flexitank for extra protection. 18
Lashing Ensure that straps must be passed through the metallic buckles properly. 19
