Commercial Burglaries: Date/Time Address (block range) Method of Entry Description/Suspect Information From: 09/26/2016 9:00pm To: 09/26/2016 9:15pm 21000 Melrose Ave. (Commercial- Medical) Status S - Stolen Manufacturer TOYOTA Color Orange Vehicle Year 2006 Description ORANGE FORK LIFT/HI-LO Notes CLASS I/5000 LB/ELECTRIC TRUCK Surveillance Video shows at approx. 9:00pm an unknown black male entered through an unknown location on the south side of the building. The male then went directly over too where the Hi-Lo was parked in garage. He then got on the Hi-Lo and drove it to the loading dock. The suspect appeared to be familiar with the business. Reporting party advises that an employee that was recently fired might be responsible.

09/28/2016 12:23am (Larceny in Building) 29000 Greenfield Rd. (Commercial Restaurant) Key was used the first time. Interior door was forced the second time. Officer was dispatched to business (Restaurant) on report of a theft that occurred overnight. Information from the manager was they have video footage of their cleaning person stealing money from the business safe. The suspect has been positively identified by the manager and incident is under investigation. Home Invasion: Date/Time Address (block range) Method of Entry Description/Suspect Information 09/27/2016 4:08pm 28000 Regent Ct N. (Residential- Condo s) Front door was kicked in. Victim states he left the residence at 9:00am. He came home at 4:00pm and observed the front entry door was kicked in. Victim checked the home and then called 911. Victim did not lock the deadbolt before he left in the morning. A Southfield Police Evidence Technician processed the scene and evidence was collected. Several items are missing from the residence. 09/28/2016 4:10am 22000 Civic Center Dr. (Residential- Apartments) Attempt on rear patio door wall glass. Victim states she heard the sound of glass breaking at approx. 4:10am. Victim looked outside and observed the broken glass. R/P did not see who damaged the patio door.

09/28/2016 3:21pm 29000 Pointe O Woods (Residential- Apartments) Hallway door was kicked in. Victim states she broke up with her boyfriend approx. two weeks ago. At the time of the break up victim states her ex-boyfriend took several items from her including her keys. Victim invited ex-boyfriend over to talk about things including her pregnancy with his baby (He already knew). Victim was also hoping to get her belongings back. When the two got together things didn t go well and her ex-boyfriend left her apartment. The ex-boyfriend then returned, kicked victims door in and assaulting her several times. The ex-boyfriend then fled in his vehicle. Suspect has been identified and incident is under investigation.

09/29/2016 8:31pm Inc.# 16/39181 30126 Everett St. Attempt on back door. >>>>>>>>>>>>> Citizens should never assume it s a family member at the door. Always keep your doors locked until you have identified who the person is at the door. >>>>>>>>>>>>>> Victim states around 8:13pm she heard the back door handle rattle as if someone was trying to unlock the door. Victim assumed it was her husband coming home from work. At this time, someone attempted to open the door. Victim was grabbing on to the handle in order to open it for which she thought was her husband. The suspect then realized someone was home and shut the door on victim. Victim then realized it wasn t her husband and the suspect fled the residence. The victim never did see the suspect.

From: 09/30/2016 7:40am To: 09/30/2016 3:47pm 15000 Stratford Dr. Entry through unsecured n/w side bedroom window. Victim states that she left home in the morning at 7:40am and returned at 3:47pm discovering the Home Invasion. It appears that unknown suspect(s) entered and exited the home through the unsecured bedroom window on the north side of the house on the west end. Several items are missing from the residence. 09/30/2016 7:44pm 20000 Brookshire St. Screen was removed from kitchen window. Victim states sometime between 8:25am 6:00pm someone forced entry into residence by removing screen on kitchen window and entering residence through the kitchen window. Once inside suspect(s) took two electronic games. Victim has a suspect in mind and gave that information to the Officer investigating. Incident is under investigation. Automobile Thefts: Date/Time Address (block range) Year, Make, Model Details From: 09/26/2016 5:50am To: 09/26/2016 3:00pm 09/27/2016 9:16am 21000 Melrose Ave. (Commercial- Common Carrier) 23000 Telegraph Rd. (Commercial- Collision Shop) Status S - Stolen Manufacturer GMC Model YUKON DENALI Color BLK - Black Vehicle Year 2004 Body Style 4D - 4 Door State MI License Year 2016 Description 04 BLACK GMC YUKON Status I - Information Only Manufacturer CHRYSLER Model 300 License No. TEMP TAG Color BLK - Black Victim states he parked his vehicle, 2004 Black GMC Yukon Denali in the west lot of the business on 09/26/2016 at 5:50am. Victim returned to his vehicle at 3:00pm and found his car stolen. Vehicle was stolen in Detroit on 09/24/2016. It was reported stolen by the vehicle owner and was in LEIN as stolen. Victim recovered her own vehicle in Detroit in a field. The vehicle was towed to Collision in Southfield. The vehicle was missing All 4 Wheels and Tires, had a broken right rear window and column damage.

09/28/2016 9:34pm 23000 Telegraph Rd. (Hotel) Status R Recovered Stolen Manufacturer FORD Model EDGE Color BLK - Black Vehicle Year 2007 Body Style 4D - 4 Door State MI License Year 2017 Description 2007 Ford Edge, Black, Disposition TOT Ross Towing Recovered Date/Time 09/29/2016 12:05am Location 23000 Block of Telegraph Rd. On 09/28/2016 at approx. 9:30pm, Officers were conducting a property inspection in the 23000 Block of Telegraph Rd. (Hotel). They observed a Black, 2007 Ford Edge parked in the lot near the main doors. They ran the attached plate through LEIN/SOS and it came back as a reported stolen vehicle out of a neighboring jurisdiction. Officers set up surveillance on vehicle and watched vehicle until it became occupied by three subjects. Officers pulled into the parking lot and blocked the vehicle so it couldn t flee. All three occupants in the vehicle were secured and Officers conducted an investigation. The driver was arrested for R&C Motor Vehicle/ DWLS/ Possession of Marijuana. A second subject that was associated with vehicle occupants in one of the hotel rooms was arrested for Misrepresentation /Obstruct P.O. & Possession of Marijuana. A Southfield Evidence Technician Field Tested the suspected marijuana. The result was positive for possible presence of marijuana. The two female juveniles that were in the car were brought into the station and were released to their parents. One of the juvenile females stated that the driver of the car was human trafficking herself and other girls through Back Page. Incident is under investigation.

(Residential- Apartments) Appears to be an Attempt LFA on victims 2015 Chrysler 200. Victim states vehicle was parked in the carport near the south east part of the complex. When victim came out to his vehicle at 9:07am he observed the rear driver side door glass was shattered but still in place. There appeared to be pry marks near the lower left corner of the glass. The plastic door molding covering the left side of the glass was also damaged. Victim stated he looked around and observed two black male subjects, approximately 5-9 wearing dark clothing, walking away near the west side of the complex. Victim believes they might have been involved. Entry into the vehicle was not gained.

09/27/2016 6:26am (2- Incidents) 27000 Sutherland St. 2- Vehicles were attacked. -2012 Chevy Impala. Lock was punched, misc. coin change was taken. -1999 Crown Victoria Stereo systems were taken. Victims states sometime between 2:00am and 6:20am someone entered victim s vehicles and took misc. coin change and stereo system. From: 09/26/2016 10:00pm To: 09/27/2016 8:00am 17000 Sherfield Pl. Purse with driver s license, credit cards, registration and insurance cards were taken from victims 2016 Dodge Grand Caravan. Victim came into the front desk to report that her purse with her driver s license, credit cards, registration and insurance cards were taken from her 2016 Dodge Grand Caravan. 09/27/2016 3:34am 24000 North Carolina Victim s wallet containing her Michigan Ident. Card, Social Security Card and possibly another Visa Credit Card were taken from victims 2014 Dodge Dart. Victim came out to her car at approx. 7:00am and noticed several items from her vehicle were now outside the vehicle. Further investigation by victim revealed that her wallet containing her Michigan Identification Card, Social Security Card and possibly another Visa Credit Card are now missing. From: 09/29/2016 10:45am To: 09/29/2016 12:40pm 26000 Franklin Rd. (Commercial Office) 2- Power Drills were taken from victims 2006 Ford Econoline Van. Victim states sometime between 10:45am- 12:40pm someone took 2- Power Drills out of his work truck. The vehicle was left unlocked.

09/30/2016 4:14am 16000 North Park Dr. (Residential- Apartments) 2- Vehicles were Attacked. -2015 Chevy K-15. Window was broken out and $10.00 cash was taken. -2015 Ford Taurus. Window was broken out. Officers were dispatched to the 16000 Block of North Park Dr. on a LFA in progress. Dispatch received a call from witness who was on an upper floor and heard a car alarm. Witness looked out the window and observed 3-B/M and a Tan or Light Brown Older Model SUV near the attacked vehicle with its alarm activated. Officers arrived at scene and located the attacked vehicle in the front of the complex. (Window was broken out on vehicle) Officer while doing an area check located another vehicle with its alarm activated, its lights flashing and observed vehicle matching the description of suspect vehicle pulling away from the vehicle. Officer followed vehicle until backup arrived and the vehicle pulled into the driveway at a residence in Detroit. Officers investigated three suspects from the vehicle and searched the vehicle. Several tools and items commonly used in LFA s were located in the vehicle along with items believed to have been taken in LFA. Witness advised that after hearing the car alarm he looked outside and witnessed the three suspects sneaking around the attacked vehicle and then observed them get into the suspect vehicle. The vehicle had a window broken out and $10.00 cash was taken from the center console.

A second vehicle which Officer observed with its alarm activated had a window broken out. All three suspects were arrested for LFA. 10/01/2016 8:11pm 28000 Telegraph Rd. (Commercial Car Dealership) Loose change was taken from several vehicles. Officers were dispatched to the 28000 Block of Telegraph Rd. (Car Dealership) on the report of an individual going into vehicles in the gated lot. Security was watching on camera a W/M with all black clothing, trying to start a Burgundy Dodge in the back lot. The male was seen under the steering wheel, possibly trying to hotwire the vehicle. Male exited the burgundy vehicle and was then observed going to the back of a Dodge Caravan in the southeast corner of the back lot. Security stated the male arrived on foot and hopped the gate to get into the rear fence. Officers arrived at the dealership and were given information as to the whereabouts of the subject. Officers located the subject and when the subject saw him he fled on foot to the southeast section of the lot.

Tips: Ensure your vehicle is locked at all times and valuables are out of sight. Thieves wait for the right time and will move quickly Even if playing sports at a park ensure your vehicle is locked Officer caught up to the suspect and instructed him to get on the ground. The male lay on the ground and kept his hands above his head. The male dropped a small blue flashlight on the ground. At this time Officers took the subject into custody. Further investigation revealed that the subject had gone through several vehicles looking for loose change etc. Suspect was arrested for LFA & Trespassing.

Armed Robbery: Date/Time Address (block range) Item Taken Details 09/27/2016 12:14pm 21000 Melrose Ave. (Commercial- Pharmacy Distributor) Attempted to take medicine from medicine cabinet storage room. At 12:14pm Officers were dispatched to the 21000 Block of Melrose Ave for an Armed Robbery that just occurred. Suspects entered business (Pharmaceutical) and attempted to rob store at gun point. Victims (employee s) state unknown males came in the back door of the building. Suspect #1 was armed with a handgun. Suspect #2 ran towards the Medicine Cage. Suspect #2 was unable to open the cage due to it being locked. Both suspects exited and fled out the back door of the building the same way they came in. The suspects didn t get anything. Suspect Descriptions: Suspect #1: Black male, approximately 6'-0", medium build wearing a black hoodie, dark sweat pants, white hospital face mask, 20-30 years of age and armed with an unknown handgun. Suspect #2: Black male, approximately 5'-6", wearing a black hoodie and a white hospital face Mask, 20-30 years of age. Tips: Always be aware of your surroundings and report suspicious incidents or persons to your local police. If something doesn t appear right or someone looks like they are up to no good, call the police immediately Trust your intuition

Be on the Look Out Highlights: Special Attention: MDOP 23000 Block of Park Place Dr. From: 09/26/2016 6:00pm To: 09/27/2016 7:40am (Residential Apartments) Victim states sometime between 6:00pm and the following morning at 7:40am someone had written expletives and threats on the driver side of the vehicle with a permanent marker. Victim believes that the person responsible for this is her boyfriend s ex-girlfriend. A similar incident recently happened to victim s boyfriend in Detroit. The suspect has been identified and incident is under investigation. Special Attention: Larceny from Vehicles How to prevent this from happening to you! -Citizens should never leave anything of value inside their vehicle. (Especially Handguns, Purses, Wallets, Cash & Cell Phones!) - If you have a garage you should park your vehicle in the garage and lock the garage. - Wheel Locks are a deterrent but don t leave the wheel lock key in the interior of your vehicle, especially the center console or glove box. This is the first place they will look for the wheel lock. - If you don t have a garage, try to park your vehicle as close to your residence as possible. Domestic/ Reckless Discharge of a Firearm/ DWLS- 1- Arrest 09/30/2016 12:54am 21000 Block of Lahser Rd. (Residential- Apartments) Officers were dispatched to Domestic Dispute possibly shots were fired. Officers arrived on scene a short time later and located the female half in her vehicle. Officer s investigation revealed that the two combatants have a child in common and the mother came to get some money from the father. The father gave mother some money but she wasn t satisfied with the amount. At some point it is alleged that the mother started throwing bricks at the side of the father s apartment building. The father s roommate came outside and observed female holding a brick. The roommate had a handgun and shot several rounds into the ground to scare the female away. Officers confiscated the handgun and the female was arrested for DWLS. The subject that fired the rounds into the ground was released pending further investigation. Incident was submitted to prosecutor for review reference Reckless Discharge of the Firearm. -If you here any loud noises near where your vehicle is parked, especially during the late night or early morning hours, attempt to look outside without alerting anyone and if someone is tampering with your vehicle immediately call 911, (Do Not Approach or Scare the Suspects Away) give Police Dispatchers as much information about the suspect(s) and suspect vehicles as you can. Stay on the phone with Dispatchers until the Police arrive.

-Lots of lighting around the area(s) that you park your vehicles is also very beneficial. Criminals don t like to work in well lighted areas. They prefer to work in darkness because it s difficult to see them. Disorderly Person/ Resist Obstruct P.O. 1- Arrest 10/01/2016 1:02am 27000 Block of Northwestern Hwy (Hotel) Officers were dispatched to 27000 bock of Northwestern Hwy (Hotel) reference an intoxicated subject attempting to drive off with his children. Officers made the scene and spoke with Security who was the caller. Security stated that the subject made it back into his room but he requested Officers to assist him in evicting subject from his room due to on- going issues/disturbances. Officers made contact with subject at his room and attempted to evict him and check on the children's welfare. Subject was highly intoxicated and refused to leave the room. When Officers attempted to remove subject from the room he started yelling and screaming disturbing several patrons and causing them to come out of their rooms. Subject also resisted Officers when they advised him he was under arrest for Disorderly Person. The subject was arrested for Disorderly Person/ Resisting & Obstruct P.O. OWI- 1- Arrest 20000 Block of Southfield Rd. 10/01/2016 8:00am Officers were dispatched on a report of a trouble with subject possible OWI. Officers located subject and upon further investigation the subject was found to be operating his vehicle while intoxicated and he was arrested for OWI.

Possession of Cocaine- 1- Arrest 10/02/2016 6:06pm Telegraph Rd. & W Ten Mile Rd. Officers observed vehicle exiting Hotel in the 23000 Block of Telegraph Rd. The vehicle was stopped for traffic violation. The driver of the vehicle had on a shirt indicating he was a pizza delivery person. When asked where he was going or coming from he told Officers he was making a delivery on a specific street in Southfield. The driver never mentioned going to the Hotel and denied going into the Hotel that Officers observed him leaving. Officers received consent to search subject s vehicle. Officers recovered suspected Crack Cocaine within the subject s vehicle. The subject then made admissions to buying the crack cocaine when he was at the Hotel. Subject was arrested for Possession of Cocaine. OWI- 1- Arrest 10/01/2016 5:00pm (Residential- Apartment Complex) Officers received numerous calls of vehicle striking Guard Shack and several vehicles in the complex. Upon arrival officers searched the complex and located the suspect in his vehicle. Officers found the suspect had struck six unoccupied vehicles and the guard shack prior to their arrival. After completing their investigation the subject was arrested for OWI.
