Prez Sez from President Ross Rampy Fellow Cascade Porsche Pushers Although the weather is still a bit bleak, it s getting closer and closer to drive time. We had a great event-scheduling meeting for the Southern Chapter in February, and we put together some fun events for this coming year. It also looks like Arne and members in the Central Chapter have been busy with similar events scheduled. As I look forward, we will be welcoming many new members to the club and we hope to see them and all our members at this year s rides and events. As an additional note, we are trying to update the website to make it more user friendly and I will get you more info when it s ready. So, take a look at this year s schedule and put us on your calendar for this year s drives and events. As Always, See You In My Mirrors. Southern Chapter Annual Planning Session A couple of weeks ago on a cold February morning, a few of us (~ 25) got together for our annual event planning session at Lark s in Medford. Discussions were robust. This year we have some new ideas and new members picking up the reins as event planners. From tech sessions and local drives to weekend overnights and even a 4-day romp through eastern Oregon, the list of events we created looks impressive. I would stack our itinerary and our scenery up against any other region. Our year looks like this: March 18 th, 10 AM Tech Session at Aarons Autowerks April 15 th, 9 AM - local arrive and drive May 8-11 th a day drive through eastern Oregon June 10 th - McKee Bridge and a poker run July 22 nd - Porsche Parade (Spokane) and July 22 nd - a local hill run with lunch at Lake in the Woods August 5 th - Afternoon Drive and arrive for Dinner Shady Cove August 12 th - Dinner on the Rogue and Evergreen Aviation Museum September 15 th through 17 th - Reno Show October 7 th - a local run through Eden Valley November 18 th - we cap the year with our annual pot-luck in November.
Also on the agenda are our monthly dining get-togethers, typically on the 2nd Friday. This year I anticipate: Rivers Edge in Grants Pass, Cusina Biazzi in Ashalnd, Dancin Vineyards in Medford, My Little BBQ in Butte Falls, among others. AND, for those of us with a serious itch for other and all things automotive, there is also the monthly (2nd Saturday, 8-11) German Cars and Coffee at the Brammo, Inc. parking lot just off the I-5 in Talent afterwards, there may also be a pick-up drive or two this season It s going to be a great year and I hope to see you all out and about during the driving season. John Central Chapter Annual Planning Session The following is a summary of the events we worked on at the planning meeting last month. While we are currently pretty certain about most of these dates, some may be subject to adjustment as we get closer. I'm also including other (non-local) events that may be of interest to some of us, just as FYI. Your newsletter editor and that guy on his knees checked out this 1970 911T at the Mecum L.A. Auction last month, described as a long-stored survivor. The nice new interior came with a cracked dash and a mold smell that made me dizzy; cheap new tires, bad panel gaps, rust bubbles and oil running out the bottom into a pan. Other than that, a helluva deal for the winner at $44K. Upcoming Events Southern Spring Tune Up Tech Session March 18 th 10 AM Aaron s Autowerks 4556 S.
