CALL TO ORDER The meeting was called to order at 10:04 a.m. 2. DECLARATION OF PECUNIARY INTEREST None were declared. 3. MINUTES i) Penetanguishene Seniors Minutes Re: January 12th, 2016 Moved by D. Barron and Seconded by M. Bellisle Action: THAT the minutes of the meeting of January 12th, 2016, be approved as printed. Town of Penetanguishene - Seniors Council Minutes CARRIED 4. FINANCIAL i) Seniors Financial Report Re: Dated January 31st, 2016 Action: For information. 5. BUSINESS ARISING FROM THE MINUTES i) Committee Update Re: 55 Alive Refresher Course A. Proulx gave an update on behalf of D. Myers and noted that D. Myers had contacted someone that could offer the course. It was also noted that April would be a better month and the Seniors Committee decided on a date of April 28th, 2016, from 10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. The committee raised a question if there was a maximum and a minimum amount of people that could attend and what would be the fee. The members also decided that they would offer coffee and cookies. Action: Staff to look into the price of the cookies and coffee. ii) Verbal Update from the Committee Members Re: Seniors Information Day - Thursday, June 9th, 2016/10:00-2:00 The members discussed and decided that a member of the OPP would be the guest speaker at the Seniors Information Day and the topic would be on fraud. It was also noted that the members did not call the vendors. The members discussed that there will be a small lunch for about 100 people, first come first serve basis and it would be sandwiches, vegetables, coffee, juice, water and cookies. Town of Penetanguishene - Seniors Council Minutes It was noted that staff would get quotes from the Ladies of St. Anne Church, Foodland and ELM Catering for the quotes for the Seniors Information Day luncheon. Action: Staff to call OPP Andrew Ferguson and the Ladies of St. Ann's Church, Foodland and ELM Catering for the quotes for the Seniors Information Day luncheon. iii) Seniors Event Dates Re: BBQ/Holiday Craft Sale The Seniors Committee discussed and confirmed the Seniors BBQ date and it was noted that it will be on September 8th, 2016, from 11:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. and the Holiday Craft Sale on December 3rd, 2016. Action: For discussion. 6. ANNOUNCEMENTS D. Leroux distributed and informed the senior's members about the Wawinet Book Launch - Saturday, February 6th, 2016, and the Penetanguishene Winterama - February 12th - 15th, 2016. The Chair also distributed the Midland Penetanguishene Transit schedule to the members of the Committee. 7. NEXT MEETING DATE The next meeting will be held on March 1st, 2016. 8.
