The weather was chilly, but the friendship was warm! Secretary: Tom Eells 2154 E. Fountain St. Mesa, AZ 85213 480-272-4739 Treasurer: Amy Jones 17200 W. Bell Rd, #1779 602-903-0967 Newsletter Editor: Wayne Cernie 1205 Palisades Ct. LK Havasu City, AZ 86403 602-909-6773 National Director: Melva Crimmins 18417 N Chula Vista 623-451-2481 Hosts for the rally were Mel and Amy Jones, Jim and Marilyn Bannon, and Larry and Orene Brown. Thursday evening the hosts followed what has become an ANASAZI tradition with a social gathering with heavy hors d oeuvres provided by those attending. Alt. National Director: Mel Jones 17200 W. Bell Rd, #1779 602-903-4517

Friday we enjoyed coffee and doughnuts provided by Leaf Verde, and had an opportunity to mingle with the park residents enjoying a snow free winter in Arizona. Friday evening, after a light Happy Hour, we dined on a Christmas Feast of ham, baked potatoes, salad and rolls, and assorted pies. Shortly after dinner, the doors to the hall blew open and a burst of chill wind deposited Santa Claus into our midst, a happy sight to our wondering eyes! It was suspected by some that this jolly plump Santa might be some relation to one of our own there was a resemblance to Tom Eels, and Carole Eels seemed to be quite sweet on Santa! Old Saint Nick quickly moved to his work of directing our annual gift exchange, always a hit, despite the occasional stealing of special prize gifts -often edibles or drinkables!

Saturday morning once again Leaf Verde provided a tasty breakfast of biscuits and gravy, condiments, and the ANASAZI fuel coffee. Saturday afternoon the community hall was busy with table games and merriment. Saturday dinner was a delicious and fragrant dinner of Amy Jones Beef Stew (a secret recipe!), salad, rolls, and cookies. The ANASAZI scraped the roaster clean with many having seconds. Following dinner we enjoyed another wonderful evening of great music and dancing to the band Junction 87. About 20 people from the RV park also joined us for the fun. Saturday morning, after coffee and a continental breakfast, we bid farewell with many calls of Merry Christmas, and anticipation of the next time we gather again. Happy Holidays to all, and a Healthy and Happy New Year!

FROM THE PRESIDENT As we enter this holiday season at the end of 2016 full of thoughts of family, friends, get-to-gethers, meals and the list goes on, we sometimes lose track of those that are not as fortunate as most of us in ANASAZI. Unfortunately, this is also a season for depression, loneliness and heaven forbid thoughts of suicide. It is hard to discern who is affected by these emotions and thoughts but we all know those that are less fortunate. Taking the time to look around and reaching out to those that are in need or just a personal recognition of those that are affected by personal loss, hardship or other life changing events during this past year may have a life altering change for everyone. I would like to wish everyone a Very Happy and Meaningful Holiday Season!
