I believe in open communication and solicit information from all Vintage Bird Members. No one can be all things to all people but by listening and talking together I believe we can reach a common ground. To all those who have lead and served before me, I want to thank you for your leadership and organizational skills that have made the Vintage Bird Club possible. A special thanks to those who have answered my many questions since November. Jerry and I have made such wonderful friends since we have been members and want to build on the comaderieship and social life that has been such an important part of life among us as one of the leading brand of motor coach owners. In this newsletter you will be able to see what plans are underway for our initial rallies. Some great plans are being made by John and Ruth Jacquinet for a Cape Cod rally, and by Bill and Dorothy Helland for Springfield, ILL. The rally for skiers by Ken Doyle and Charlie McKeehan is planned for Seven Springs. This notice in the newsletter may be a little late but we wanted everyone to know about it and if interested plan to attend next year. The Internet was used to advertise it and we hope to try that again. You wouldn t have to take your coach as there are places to stay and then join in the social activities with the group. Ken would like to hear from you if you have any interest at all. If you have an idea for a rally that you would like to explore or carry out, we would love to hear from you. I encourage each of you to update your e-mail address so you can receive information notices. These updates and corrections should be sent to Jim and Nancy Brookshire. Their e-mail address is woodwinds@alltel.net. Don t forget the joint rally with The Blue Bird Chapter that is scheduled to immediately follow the Rally in the Valley in November. It will be held in Dillard, Georgia. We have a web page and I encourage you to check it out. Is there someone out there that likes to take pictures and would like to be our Chapter Historian? I think it is important to keep these records. Is there someone doing this already for the chapter? I am interested in following through on this project. Please contact me if you are interested. We have a beautiful country let s get out and enjoy it with our Vintage Bird Friends. APPLICATION FOR VINTAGE BIRD CHAPTER MEMBERSHIP In December of 1984, the Vintage Birds Chapter of FMCA was chartered for owners of older Blue Bird Wanderlodge Coaches. To be eligible for membership, you must first be a member in good standing of FMCA. Then you must own a Blue Bird Wanderlodge or BMC five years old or older. For example, a 2000 coach would be eligible in the fall of 2004 when the 2005 models go on sale. If after joining the Chapter, should you purchase a later model Wanderlodge, you may still remain a member of the Chapter. The purpose of the Chapter is to provide a forum for exchange of ideas concerning the maintenance or modification of Blue Bird Wanderlodge Coaches or BMC. The Chapter will also provide fellowship among owners, conduct interesting and affordable rallies. The Chapter will publish a newsletter for the purpose of providing Chapter, social and technical information on Blue Bird Wanderlodge and BMC. The initiation fee is $25.00. This will cover your Chapter name badges and the first year s dues. After the first year the Annual Dues are $10.00 Please Print and Send check for $25.00 with this application to: Bob Dilks HC 70 Box 1305 Kingston, OK 73439 First and Last Name: Spouse First and Last Name First Names on badge: Spouse Street City: State: Zip: Email: Home Phone: ( ) - Cell Phone: ( ) - Make, Model and Year of coach: FMCA # I am a paid up member of FMCA and wish to become a member of the Vintage Birds Chapter. VINTAGE BIRDS Andrea Dixon, Editor P.O. Box 1000 Paintsville, KY 41240 CHECK YOUR DUES "Dues Situation. Your dues expiration date is shown on your mailing label. Please check the date. In preparing our December membership report we found some members who need to pay their dues. Because of a change in officers, the need to coordinate computers and various timing demands, delinquent and current members who paid their dues in November were likely too late to have their expiration date changed for the November/ December 2007 news letter. Delinquent and current members who paid their dues in January were likely too late to have their expiration date changed for this the January/February news letter. Annual dues are $10 and any member not current to December 2008 by the March/April news letter will likely not receive a newsletter. Please remember that once a membership lapses and is dropped from our rolls and FMCA there is a $15 fee because we have to treat you like a new member by resubmitting all forms to FMCA. Therefore it is most helpful if we can work together to keep our rolls current. Please help us by checking your label and taking the action needed. Send your check, payable to Vintage Birds, to R. E. Dilks, HC70 Box 1305, Kingston OK 73439. If you feel there is a mistake, please call 580-564-3517 or email me at bjmd@texoma-ok.com." Bob Dilks
