The combination of spectacular peaks, rugged gorges and the rich colours of the desert offer artists an unforgettable experience. The Flinders Ranges of South Australia are regarded as perhaps the most spectacular of all the arid mountain ranges. We have selected some of the most spectacular locations of the Moolooloo station in the Central Flinders Ranges. And like our Larapinta Artists expedition, you will enjoy access to remote locations with 4WD support. We will seek inspiration from the Sir Hans Heysen Patawarta Hill, Land of the Oratunga, Nuccaleena Mine and numerous gorges and gaps that will enable you to create wonderful masterpieces and let those artistic and creative energies flow. With professional guides ensure this trip balances challenge and discovery in the outback with opportunity for creative expression. Art Expeditions In 2006 a group of professional artists travelled through the West MacDonnell Ranges searching for inspiration. The artists were guided and supported throughout by World Expeditions, freeing them to focus their energies on the artistic output. The resulting body of work was exceptional, each artist had responded with stunning range of drawings and paintings (Postcards from the Desert, Damien Minton Gallery). The combined inspiration of the landscape and working alongside other artists had helped each artist produce a range of great works. These expeditions have been run on an annual basis with trips and exhibitions covering North East of Tasmania (Devils in Paradise, Damien Minton Gallery), Flinders Ranges (In the footsteps of Heysen, SH Ervin Gallery) and Central Australia agaian (The Larapinta Expedition, Defiance Gallery) Leading these successful artistic expeditions, painter Leo Robba has joined with World Expeditions to offer all interested artists, amateur and professional to join in this shared creative experience. Each Art Expedition will be escorted by Leo Robba, he will provide directions and assistance to artists in the field, helping them reach their artistic potential and develop their skills in the field. This is not artistic tuition, but a shared creative experience. A professional team of World Expeditions guides will provide exceptional food and camping hospitality as well as guided walks and transfers to selected scenic locations. A key benefit of these expeditions is that artist will have access to spectacular wilderness locations. about your leader Leo Robba is a Sydney based painter who has refined a classic painting style with a nod to the naivete of folk art. Artworks by Leo Robba are represented in many collections around the globe. http://www.kingstreetgallery.com.au/stockroom/leo-robba at a glance Day 1 Day 2 Day 3 Day 4 Day 5 Day 6 Day 7 To Moolooloo Station Moolooloo Station Moolooloo Station- Patawarta Hill Moolooloo Station Moolooloo Station- Nuccaleena Mine Moolooloo station To Adelaide what s included Services of Artistic Director Leo Robba 2 2013 Australian World Expeditions Pty Limited - Chris Buykx 30/01/2013 11:03:40 AM

We go in the coolest part of the year as this is the most comfortable time for trekking in the Flinders Ranges. Daytime temperatures in April May are mild while June - July can be cool to cold. From August to October, the days get progressively warmer and late in the season the occasional hot day may require us to modify the days trekking to suit the conditions. In the desert, night time temperatures can be cold at any time of year. From late May through to early August, the evenings can be very cold (down to minus 5C / 24F ). On rare occasions, rain can force us to alter our schedule. accommodation on the trip During the trip you will be accommodated at the outback property of Moolooloo Station. These has been selected for its location and outback style and charm. The guides will prepare all the meals and run the camp, however you will be asked to contribute by putting up your own tents and rolling out swags.
