This event will be held at the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 1101 West Hudson Road, in Rogers. You can take exit 86 from I-540 and approximately 2.75 miles east. We have chosen the facility because of the large parking lot, large community room, kitchen facilities and airconditioning! At the last chapter meeting we established several committees with responsibilities for the various tasks. The committees and their respective leads & team members to date are listed below. The first name being the committee head: Food ----- Pam Redinger & Ruthie Erskin Desserts --- Mary Collins -- One per family needed Kitchen and Serving ---- Debbie Kuebler, Mike s Musings Where did the time go? Here it is August already. Boy oh Boy what a month July was. Wing Ding was FUN. We are not so sure if it was Wing Ding, or our travels with Delbert & Jo, George & Dora and Max & Beth. Although Wing Ding was great we're pretty sure it was the Great Friends that we traveled with that made it so much FUN!!!!! If you have never had the opportunity to go on a trip with these people you really need to find the chance to do so. You will definitely not regret it. You know what a True Friend is when you have problems and can't leave as planned and instead of the rest going on without you, they turn around and come back and wait with you. The past 3 years have flown by for us. Being your Chapter Directors has been a Great Experience. We have come to meet some Fantastic people and made some wonderful Friendships. But unfortunately our time is up and it is time for new leadership. We want to wish your new Chapter Staff all the best. We would like to thank our staff, Don & Pam Redlinger, George & Dora Corner, Mary & Joe Collins, Kent & Debbie Kuebler, Phyllis & Odie Tresner, Ed & Judy Schreck and Gene & Barbara Renken for all the hard work and time that they have put into making Chapter "B" such a success. We could not have done it without all their much appreciated help. Thank You for a job well done. Ride Safe, Ride Often. Mike & Ruthie Planning Continues for Chapter Rally Norene Harmon, Gay Wampler, Elizabeth Edwards Registration ----- Beth Brown, Bob Harmon, Gene & Barbara Renken 50/50 Tickets ---- Odie Tresner, Carl Wampler Photographs --- Frank & Sharon Maxwell, Bill Edwards Bike Games ---- Nova Brandon, Max Brown People Games ----- Connie Brandon Door Prizes ----- Mike Erskin, Don Redinger, Ed & Judy Schreck, Joe & Mary Collins We do need additional help, so please chose a committee team for which you can help. We also need Chapter members assistance with help on additional items that can be donated for the Chapter s use at the Rally. Continued on Page Three Rally

P A G E 2 On the Safe Side From George & Dora Coiner Hi Guys & Gals: It is August. Mike & Ruthie, Delbert & Jo, and Dora & George went to Wing Ding in July. While we were there, we heard of an accident involving 4 GoldWings. The leader decided to stop, but the last rider did not have a "CB" and he hit the other bikes. The reason I am telling you this is, riding in a group is fun and helps with some aspects of safety-being more visible. The leader of the group did not have his group in the correct placement. The rider without the "CB" should not have been last. As a Safety Person, I have realized that there is no such thing as an "Accident". Somebody did something wrong or the accident would not have happened. The leader should have given more time for hand signals, or he should have had the group leave more distance between bikes. We like to go on Group Rides, but, we are in such a hurry to leave, we do not do a Precheck. A Pre-check to me is 1) who leads, 2) who's last, 3) who has "CBs", and who does not, 4) in what order are we going to ride. Doing all these things makes the ride more FUN, because it makes the ride SAFER. Remember Our Motto: FRIENDS for FUN, SAFETY, And KNOWLEDGE. Until next time, Keep the Rubber Side Down Geo & Dora Freedom of the Press is only as good as the peoples press for freedom Heat Affects Both Rider and Bike by Nova Brandon Never Stop Depositing in your Memory Bank Well the heat is finally coming on and this can create problems for our bikes and the same for us. In warmer weather and higher humidity, bikes have trouble displacing heat. We all enjoy the crowd gathering around to look at and talk about our bikes at the dessert stop or gas station, but we need to maintain them so they don t stop to ask What s wrong with it? as we try to figure it out on the side of the road or in a parking lot. A properly maintained and trip ready machine is really fun on that ride and could prevent some of the following problems: 1) the bike running hotter, 2) the radiator boiling over 3) breaking down of the oils and fluids affecting your brakes, clutch, rear drive, and transmission over inflated tires on long rides (heat + miles = air pressure) 4) alternator failure (dust from the brushes can cause them to stick in humid conditions) 5) sticky brake calipers So, when you are through washing and waxing or have some time available, take a few minutes to look over the heart of that champion you ride. Check tire pressures, oil levels, coolant level, fluid color, etc. If you re not the hands on type of rider use your favorite mechanic shop or dealership. It can help your safety, your enjoyment, and your wallet by doing it ahead of time instead of after something happens. Remember to keep yourself and your co-rider hydrated in these hot weather conditions to avoid possible heat related health problems. SAFETY ISN T EXPENSIVE, IT S PRICELESS! W I N G S A W A Y P A G E 5 A decent dose of paranoia is essential to safe riding. Change is torture...until it works. A Fun Time Shared With TX-M by Ed & Judy Schreck Saturday morning arrived warm, a few fluffy clouds and dry roads. It was the day we were to depart for Mena, AR. to meet with our friends from GWRRA Texas Chapter "M" out of Ft. Worth, TX. The breakfast and the Chapter "B" meeting in Rogers seemed to go forever but after the business of planning for our chapter rally to be on the 11th of August, we finally got under way at 11:30AM. I was sorry that some of the people who had planed on going with us had not returned from Wing Ding but, there s always next time. We stopped for gas south of Fayetteville, to top off. The 2 trike's and 1 two wheeler departed knowing there was fun to be had. The ride to Mena was very relaxed as we knew we would meet with the Texas riders at about the same time at the Sun Country Motel. A stop in Waldren for a few minutes was called for, then off we went on the last 30 miles of the ride to Mena arriving between 2:30 and 3:00 P.M. But, where was Chapter. "M"?? A few inquirers and we found one of the cycles had a flat on the West end of the Talimena Scenic drive. A call to the Kawasaki Dealer in Mena, and the cycle was picked up and a new tire mounted. No one was hurt and no damage was done to the cycle. When "M" arrived, with every one in Green shirts, Green ribbon's flying from their antennas, and spaced so every one pulled into the motel like fighter jets pealing off (Very Impressive). You knew the fun was soon to begin, AND DID! It didn't take long for a new club to be formed T/AR-BM. Supper at the Chopping Block (Good Food) we found out what a Hillbilly Briefcase was and Oh WOW!! Pickled Possum WHAT?? A lot about the Beverly Hillbillys and Good Fun. I'm not to sure what the young waitresses thought of the older group, but they were laughing too. After supper, a short ride/ light show was called for then back to the motel for story telling/ tire kicking, swatting of mosquitoes and good fellowship. For you that didn't make the ride, YOU MISSED A GOOD ONE!!! Sunday morning, after breakfast and all the goodbyes were said, "M" departed in two groups of 9 cycles each, 30 seconds apart. Carl and Gay, Frank and Sharon, and Judy and I took the Talimena Scenic ride to highway 59 north, a stop at Wild Horse Mt. Bar-B-BQ for lunch, then on home with Good Memories and a lot of new friends! Just a side note, we will see TX-"M again. We were sure made Welcome by all. Thank You J.D. and LouAnn for allowing us to become part of the Chapter "M" family for the weekend. Ya'll come back now, Ya Hear! 808 SE 14th St Hwy 102 Bentonville, Arkansas 72712 Open 6 days a week Monday Saturday

It was a great 18 days, which covered 14 states and over 5,000 miles including the side trips. After leaving Billings, on July 6 th we worked our way over Bear Tooth Pass, spent time in Yellowstone and eventually ended up in Mesquite, Nevada where we spent 4 days exploring the National Parks in the area including Grand Canyon, Bryce Canyon and Zion. We also toured Hoover Dam, which was really an interesting day. Things are slowing down for the month of August. We only have Chapter B with a day rally scheduled this month. Then in September things will pick up again with something going on almost every weekend through the end of October. Speaking of October, we have the Memorial Picnic scheduled for the 20 th at Burns Park. Again, we will be having the Chapter Cup competition and Chapter Chili Championship challenge. Everyone plan on attending and cheering your Chapter on to victory. For those that haven t been to the Districts of Kansas or Oklahoma for their District Rallies we would encourage you to go. They both put on a weekend of great fun. Kansas is scheduled in September and Oklahoma in October. Both are just a day ride away from us. Oklahoma District Rally Oct 4-6, 2007 Stillwater, OK Speaking of rallies, we are working hard to secure the location for our 2008 District Rally. Hopefully, we will be announcing the location and dates no later than sometime in September. With the input received on the survey from the attendees last year, it will be bigger and better next year. Start making plans now to attend. Until next time, ride safe and Ride With Pride.
