It is part of a major global sea. It created a life that has straggled incredible diversity in millions of years. All too few are aware that the big sea is vulnerable and at the same time too small to undertake and survive the human greed. Some important objects from the 16th century to the present day, which represent an important milestone in the creation of glass, are also on display. JUSUF HADŽIFEJZOVIĆ: DEPOTGRAPHY - INSTALLATION Museum of Modern Art 26.4. to 17.9.2017 Jusuf Hadžifejzović began his career as a painter, but since the 1970s, his main focus has been on performance and a special type of practice: he's been collecting the stored items and depositing them again, rearranged, in the form of installations in the exhibition space. THE ESSENCE IS HIDDEN - EXHIBITION OF THE SLOVENIAN MICROSCOPY SOCIETY Town Hall 18. to 31.7.2017 The authors want to bring closer the micro and nano world to the visitors of the exhibition, by explaining the various techniques of image formation inside electron microscopes and to present years of experience in the field of electron microscopy, arising from a number of research institutes in city of Ljubljana. REVEALED HANDS Town Hall 13.7. to 3.8.2017 The exhibition presents the results of the project that was created in cooperation of the designing team Oloop with female immigrants from Jesenice. MIKE HENTZ - SOLO EXHIBITION Tobačna 001 (cultural centre) 21.6. to 28.7.2017 Mike Hentz is a visual and multi-media artist of Swiss-American origin. He is also a performer and musician, and belongs among the pioneers of media art in the 1980s. He was a professor at art academies in Hamburg and Stuttgart and since 2009 he has been lecturing at the RISEBA in Riga, Latvia. HIC PROCUL A CURIS/THIS IS FAR FROM THE CARES - ART WORKS SALVAGED FROM THE FIRE-DAMAGED ZALOG MANSION City Museum of Ljubljana - MGML 13.6. to 24.9.2017 The frescoes are signed Illouscheg and dated 1725, implying these are the earliest preserved frescoes by Franc Jelovšek known to us. CASE STUDY: THE SECOND YUGOSLAV DOCUMENTS EXHIBITION Museum of Modern Art 26.4. to 27.9.2017 The Second Yugoslav Documents presents a re-enactment of the last big art exhibition in Yugoslavia. THE LIVES OF MONUMENTS - STUDENT DOCUMENTARY EXHIBITION Museum of Contemporary Art Metelkova (MSUM) 17.6. to 3.9.2017 The documentary exhibition about monuments related to World War II and erected in Slovenia at the time of the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia was developed at the seminar Art for Collective Use at the Department of Art History of the University of Ljubljana, in cooperation with the Moderna galerija. ARCADE GALLERY Central Market - market halls by architect Jože Plečnik 4.7. to 25.9.2017 Arcade Gallery, under the arcades of the scenic Ljubljana market is a sound gallery, located in the first arcade between the fish market and the first loge. The gallery is an eight channel installation that allows for spatial listening while strolling under the arcades.
