8 BELFAST visitbelfast.com +44 (0)28 9023 9026 VISIT BELFAST JOB DESCRIPTION POSITION: DEPARTMENT: REPORTING TO: SALARY RANGE: In-Market Conference Sales Manager (based in London) Business Tourism Director of Business Development Competitive PURPOSE: To assist the Director of Business Development by attracting UK Association and Corporate conferences and events to Belfast and deliver on set sales targets. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Develop new business leads through sales appointments with Association and Corporate meeting and event s organisers. 2. Develop a working database and sales profile document on all UK Association conferences with a key focus on rotation, open dates and bid requirements. 3. Initiate, develop and build strong working relationships with UK Association and Corporate meeting planners in the UK. 4. Assist the Director of Business Development in organising and implementing a schedule of sales activity to promote Belfast as a conference destination in the UK market and deliver on set sales targets. 5. Develop creative conference bids and proposals to promote Belfast as a leading conference and events destination in key markets. 6. Represent business tourism team at industry events and develop strong working relationships with its industry members and key stakeholders. 7. Assist the Director of Business Development in the development and management of Visit Belfast client events, to ensure maximum attendance at the events by trade members and clients. 8. Assist in the planning and co-ordination of the Business Tourism Department s participation at trade shows, exhibitions and workshop events, including effective follow-up. 9. Assist in the production and distribution of conference sales and marketing collateral. 10. Will be required to attend exhibitions, client meetings and events throughout UK, Europe and worldwide. 11. Will be required to travel throughout the UK conducting sales appointments. 12. Will be required to travel to Belfast for internal meetings and conducting site inspections and fam trips.

Maintain an effective database of existing and potential conference clients through the Business Tourism Department s CRM system. 15. Prepare sales and marketing reports as requested by the Director of Business Development. 16. Undertake when necessary any other duties as required.

Third level or post graduate qualification in a relevant discipline such as marketing, tourism, hospitality, business studies. Relevant Experience Minimum of four years sales experience with a demonstrated ability to deliver results and meet targets. Experience of delivering presentations at a senior level. Delivery of sales campaigns and plans. Experience of the events, meetings and conference market. Client and stakeholder management experience. Production of client proposals. Sales management and CRM experience. Tourism, hospitality or event management experience. Knowledge of Belfast as a conference and events destination. Knowledge of the Belfast tourism and hospitality industry and key stakeholders. Special Aptitudes Circumstances Excellent sales and marketing acumen. Results orientated individual.
