Thammasat University Arrival Instructions Make travel arrangements to arrive at Thammasat prior the Official UCEAP Start Date. Students who arrive late are subject to dismissal from the program. For details, refer to the program calendar posted on your Pre-Departure Checklist (PDC). Flight Itinerary Form: Once you have purchased your airline ticket, complete the online Flight Itinerary Form on your PDC. If there are any changes to your travel plans, it is important to contact UCEAP immediately. Airport and Immigration: If you are traveling on an international flight from the US, you will arrive at Suvarnabhumi International Airport in Bangkok and have to pass through Thai Immigration. The Immigration Officer will inspect your passport, visa and the landing card distributed onboard your flight (be sure to complete the form before your arrive at Immigration). The Immigration Officer will stamp your passport to document your arrival and determine your duration of stay based on the type of visa you are holding. A Non-Immigrant ED visa will grant you a 90 day stay. Part of the landing card will be returned to you. You will need to keep this with your passport for when you depart the country. After completing the Thailand Immigration process, you will proceed to baggage claim. With your luggage, head through Customs and exit the automatic doors into the arrival hall. Note: Most regional and domestic flights land at Don Muang Airport. Money Exchange: In the arrival hall (after baggage claim and customs), there are foreign exchange booths. UCEAP recommends that you exchange at least US$100 into Thai baht. You will need enough to cover your transportation and daily housing cost. After arrival at your accommodations or during orientation, you can be directed to the nearest banks for further financial needs. Transportation: The official taxi kiosks at Suvarnabhumi airport are located outside Gate 4 and Gate 7 of the 1 st floor passenger terminal. The staff at the taxi kiosk speak English and can help you get a taxi. For your own safety, note your taxi license number and the driver ID. Provide the driver with the address and map of your housing location. There is an airport surcharge (50 baht) in addition to your taxi fare and passengers are responsible for the cost of all highway tolls (75 baht). The total cost of the trip should be around 500-600 baht. All transportation services from the airport require payment in cash (Thai baht) only. DO NOT take an unofficial (un-metered) taxi. Avoid unauthorized people who offer their services as guides. Many of these unauthorized guides may try to speak with you as you exit the immigration area. Use common sense and observe precautions regarding personal safety and the security of your belongings. Pre-Arranged Housing: If you requested pre-arranged housing, go to the main reception desk to checkin during business hours. If arriving after hours, go to the security guard booth. 3J Court Cash and credit card payment accepted. Amarin Mansion Cash payment only.
