The museum also features an interactive play area and a small movie theatre so please bring the whole family. Program Director Applied Pavement Technology This session will discuss two new Advisory Circulars that have impacts on the proper planning and design of your airport. Being able to make a proper determination of the critical design aircraft at an airport is a key consideration in FAA decision making on airfield project justification. The FAA has very recently introduced a new AC that addresses the critical aircraft and regular use determination for airports. The first part of this session will help to define what the critical aircraft is, how to determine your airport s existing and future critical aircraft, and how to apply it to specific components on your airfield. The FAA has also provided updated guidance on airport pavement design and evaluation, which includes a new version of their corresponding FAARFIELD design software.
