You will enjoy browsing through the small shops where you will see the arts and craft people working and you will have an opportunity to bring home beautiful gifts for friends. Thursday 16 th May 2019 The BURREN and CLIFFS of MOHER UNESCO Global Geopark This morning we will travel to The Burren National Park. It is almost 1,500 hectares of uplands in the southeast of the Burren. It is owned and managed by the National Parks and Wildlife Service. The area contains excellent examples of limestone pavement, calcareous grassland, hazel scrub, turloughs and fen. The wide variety of habitat makes this a biodiversity hotspot with birds, plants, lichens vertebrates and invertebrates all being well-represented. From here we move on to the spectacular Cliffs of Moher. Time permitting, we will then go on to visit the Hazel Mountain Chocolate. Page 5 of 5
