PAGE 4 JULY LADIES LUNCHEON By Kathy McKee The July Ladies' Luncheon was held at the Lumberyard Brewery on San Francisco Street off of Route 66 on Tuesday, July 19th at noon. We would have celebrated Kennedy Torel's birthday, but she has been ill and wasn't able to join us. The service was excellent and we enjoyed a good (though rather noisy) time there. The rain caught some of us off guard and messed up a few hairdos! The 14 ladies attending were: Alice St. Germain, Donna Viehdeffer, Kathy McKee, Helga Dinwiddie, Mona Keksis, Sally Page, Maggie Bortree, Alana Velez, Joyce Merritt, LuAnn Hunt, Kathi Westerdahl, Jackie Clark, Linda Wolfe and Binnie Zink. RUMBLINGS FROM AROUND THE FLYWHEEL Heads up! Many changes have been made to our calendar events since last month. Please see page two of this newsletter for updates, or visit our club website. The September Fall Lunch at the Torel s has been cancelled due to Kennedy being under the weather. Best wishes to Lady K on her recovery. Our exciting I-40 Trash Pickup has been rescheduled for October 23. Don t miss this one; free breakfast/ brunch/lunch to follow at Northern Pines Restaurant. Its that time again. Nominations for Club Officers will be next month at the General Meeting with elections to be held in November. The offices of President, Cruise Director and Treasurer are up for grabs. Please give some thought to running for office. Next month we will report on the 1st Triclub event which was held August 13. ( Hint: it was a tremendous success!) Also the details for the next combined club event, a poker run, will be divulged. Pat Wiebe is again requesting help with the Beans & Rice Fund Raiser event which supports the Poore Clinics. Please contact Pat for more info.

PAGE 5 PARKS 4TH OF JULY PARADE We had 10 cars in the Parks Parade. It was a beautiful day with no rain, for the first time in Parks for a number of years! And no problems. After the parade we journeyed over to Williams for a lunch at the Cruisers Route 66 Café. Thanks to Alan St Germain for providing the pictures and to Bob Bortree for not only supplying the commentary but for arranging club participation in the parade events.

PAGE 6 CARS FOR A CAUSE HIGHLAND RODS & RIDES CHARITY CAR SHOW Held July 24, 2016 this charity event was able to present the Williams Food Book with a $1000 check. Whereas only few trophies were awarded, we understand that Alan St. Germain was a recipient. Our thanks to Alan St. Germain for providing these pictures.

PAGE 7 FARMERS MARKET CAR SHOW A few highlights of the July 31 car show at the Farmers Market on 4th Street: ten club members showed their cars; many of them won trophies; while the weather started out perfect, at the close of the show Mother Nature erupted with a horrific down pour.
