Project: Delray Beach Center for the Arts Park Location: Delray Beach, FL (N. Swinton Ave and E. Atlantic Ave) Size: +/-3.5 Acres Project Description: Delray Beach Center for the Arts Park, a community gathering space, sits within Delray Beach s urban core and acts as a prime community gathering location for public and private events. The project site is framed by the repurposed Delray Elementary and High School Buildings which now are the Crest Theatre, the 1925 Gymnasium, the Cornell Museum of Art and History, an outdoor entertainment pavillion, and parking structure. Additionally, the site is a part of the vibrant commerical heart of Delray Beach and acts as a welcoming threshold element to the City. The City and its inhabitants realize the need for improvements to the park since many elements are in a state of decline or hinder the proper use of this valuable public open space. The re-purposed park intends to transform the public space to a gathering space for all ages.
