President s Message Congratulations to REMTC members for demonstrating outstanding touring etiquette during the Friendship tour last weekend. Several times when the entourage of cars was held up due to traffic signals, or just plain traffic, the person in front of them stopped and waited for them to catch-up before proceeding. Of course the person in front of them also stopped and so on and so forth. It proves that REMTC members are really thinking about what it takes to have a successful tour. July, or there about, is a wonderful month for REMTC touring. The Friendship tour with the Model A club was spectacular (about 30 cars) and Chris found roads second to none. What a nice touch to make your own breakfast burritos under the redwoods and then stroll over to the river to watch the tri-athlete contestants swim by. Many thanks to Chris and Joan for the beautiful location and tour. Thank you Steve Vining for providing the trouble truck, even though it was not needed. If it would not have been there. you know the rest. July 4 is the Kenwood parade with a pancake breakfast set in a secluded and shady picnic area. This is the place to show-off your patriotic Model T decorating skills. On July 12 you will be able to show off your car at Montgomery Village. Did you ever think you would be able to window shop in the mall as you drive down the main aisle in your Model T? Be sure to bring something to put under your car as the mall frowns on Model T s marking their territory. A small speckled rug always works well and can be rolled up easily. A few years ago I put a mirror under the car and it was a real hit and still stopped the drips. July 19 is the Welsh BBQ with the HCCA. What better place is there to have good food and see some immaculately restored cars? The Gold and Silver tour is less than two months away. As of this writing 26 cars are confirmed; and a few more have signed up, but have not yet paid the tour fee. We re working hard to get the reservations confirmed; and then we will be able to give more information. Safe touring everyone!... Richard Montgomery Village REMTC Car Show July 12th, 2015 Bring your Model T to the Village Courtyard on Sunday morning and spend the day, have lunch and talk about our favorite subject, the Model T Ford. We will dress in vintage clothing, hand out balloons to the kids, promote our Club and have a wonderful day shopping with and enjoying the Village merchants. More details to follow but you will need to sign up with Vince Gregoire to participate. This annual event is one that the Club really enjoys. Montgomery Village management is very generous with gift certificates. In that spirit, only members that fully participate by bringing their Model T s for display will receive compensation for their participation. No exceptions. Very Important Bring a piece of rug to put under your car to catch any drips!!!! We will meet under the clock tower, on Farmer s Lane, in Montgomery Village at 9:00 am. Club members dress in vintage attire and plan to spend most of the day until around 3:00 pm. We will have a table set up with applications available, business cards, and The Vintage Magazine. 3

Trivia...Ford, who made the first pick-up trucks, shipped them to dealers in crates that the new owners had to assemble using the crates as the beds of the trucks. The new owners had to go to the dealers to get them, thus they had to "pick-up" the trucks. 5

Lizzie s Page Richard & Nanette Chuck took some pictures at the Caz-Sonoma lodge recently. A few of our members attended a Gatsby party there, which is where we will have our Anniversary party in September. More information will follow in the next newsletters. This will be a party to celebrate our 25th anniversary as a Model T Ford Club. Rich Randolph and his committee are putting together all the details and will give us some updates at the July meeting. We will be able to dress in Vintage Edwardian or 1920 s to fit the era of our cars. Thanks to Rich and his committee for taking on this task and we all look forward to a fun afternoon in Cazadero! 5th Annual Model T & Model A Friendship Tour Chris and Joan arrived early at the Riverhouse in Guerneville to prepare hot coffee, muffins and breakfast burritos for over 60 folks that started arriving at 8:30. What a treat to see some of Henry s finest lined up together to enjoy another friendship tour. There were 31 Ford Model T.s and A s. The weather started out overcast but was not cold. Around 10:00am, Chris called a driver s meeting to hand out directions for the tour that were very well written in large type. The route had to back track a couple of roads to stay out of the way of the rodeo and the Vineman tour plus some other bicycle tours that were enjoying Sonoma county back roads. We stopped at Occidental for a short rest and then took a circuitous route back to the river. Chris & Joan always manage to find roads that most of us have never been on before. We had lunch down by the redwoods on tables decorated with lovely bunches of lavender that Joan decorated with pretty lavender ribbon. Everyone brought box lunches, soda and water provided in Chris favorite Ford tractor s bucket! Lots of good conversation, friendship and comraderie was had by all. Some were lucky enough to be down on the dock when the Vineman tour went by. The river was full with people enjoying kayaks, swimming and all sort of watercraft. All of our wonderful Ford autos made the tour without a hitch even though we did have Steve Vining driving trouble truck. Thanks to Chris and Joan for hosting the tour, all the beautiful Model A cars and their folks who attended, and the Vinings for driving trouble truck. I am sure West County enjoyed watching the Fords go by... Photos By Jamie 8
