What you need to pack All documents needed for enrolment (see page 6) Clothing The UK is famous for its changeable weather! In summer, the temperature is around 20 C, and in winter between -3 C and 10 C. You can buy many of the clothes you need in the UK, but you should still bring some warm clothes and a waterproof jacket. You do not need any formal clothes (such as a suit), as students dress casually for classes. During the year we hold various international events, so if you have have a national costume, do bring it with you. We would love to see it and learn more about your culture! Mobile phone and laptop We can provide you with a local SIM card shortly after you arrive. Remember Check the luggage weight limit for your flight to the UK. This is usually around 20kg. If you are staying at Lansdowne Point, you do not need to bring any of the items listed in the student starter pack. You do not need to bring your own food or any extra textbooks. Money It can sometimes take several weeks to open a bank account in the UK, so we recommend you bring at least 1,000 with you to the UK. Please note that you might be charged a fee in the UK when withdrawing money from an international account.
