August 2009 Trail Boss Report Fellow Trail Blazers: Jacob & I just got back from one of the best event so far this year. If you where unable to attend the Buckin Ohio rodeo you missed a fun filled evening. Most of the boys had the opportunity to compete in an ice-cream eating contest in an old western town setting. Even though they didn t win they showed that the Trail Blazers eat well and took their time. We where entertained to a sheep riding contest involving children. Then the main event which had twenty-four cowboys competing for 1 st place in the bull riding event. Even the clown kept everyone on the edge of their seats during the competition. Thanks to O.I.C. Joe, Eddie and Evan Zgrabik for bringing us this great event. A special Trail Blazer thank you to Eileen Thorsell (owner) and staff for an enjoyable evening. We held our July meeting at CiCi s Pizza (Ridge Park Square) on Sunday July 19 th ; fifteen blazers and family members attended. The Mohican trip was also well attended by Trail Blazers. We were spread out all over the camp and it was great to see some old alumni that attended. The 4 th of July Parade again had a great turn out and the boys got to pass out candy along the parade route. A few reminders - I need RSVP S if you are planning on attending the Trail Blazers Family Picnic by Saturday August 15 th. Due to the budget for this event I ll only be buying enough food for those who reply. So don t wait until the last minute or past the deadline like the growing trend of the past few years or you ll be left out. It s becoming that time of the year. The 2010 Officer s Election is just around the corner (Nov.). As time goes on, believe it or not your son will get older and his interests will change. Sure he will remember all the good times and father and son magic that you ve had together. Still, he is older now and moving on in the trail of life. Such is the time of some of our officers. It won t be long until they will be moving along. It s hard to imagine but it will happen soon. We need to have some new people in the organization step up and lead us on into the future. So take a minute and look into your soul and see if you can make a difference in the group. Someone did it for you. Nominations will be taken at upcoming meetings and events. cadandeli@aol.com tbtrailboss@bigcreekweb.com Home 440.845.3878 Cell 440.829.1441 Father & Sons Trails Together, Jacob & Ken Everett 2009 Trail Boss
