Taupo - Round 1 Welcome to Round 1 of the NZ Offshore Powerboat Championship and the first round of the Anzac Trans- Tasman Cup and the Australia Vs New Zealand Challenge. We are excited to have the Australian teams with us and it is certainly shaping up to be a fantastic season. This is an exciting offshore venue right on the Taupo lakefront. A holiday destination which is a popular for fishing, water sports, shopping, skiing and has fantastic attractions such as Huka Falls, the Prawn Farm and geothermal activity. Boats will be on display at North coft Reserve Saturday 30 th and Sunday 31 st before and after the race, which kicks off at 1pm and 2:30 pm - two 30 minute races with a 1 hour break in between. BOAT PARKING Boats can be parked on the Northcroft Reserve in front of Suncourt Hotel & Conference Centre from Saturday 30 th January. PRE RACE SCRUTINEERING / CPR ASSESSMENTS SATURDAY 30 TH JAN AT NORTHCROFT RESERVE 8am 2pm 3pm -5pm Pre-season Scrutineering CPR Assessments at Sun court Motel (Please contact Calvin Hicks on 0274206337 for a booking time) RACE DAY SUNDAY 31 ST JANUARY The main race is based from the Northcroft Reserve and Lake Terrace foreshore. It is slightly elevated and has excellent views of the whole course. Team tents, caravan, commentator and food caravans will be based here. views of the whole course. Team tents, caravan, commentator and food caravans will be base LAUNCHING OF BOATS 100 & 60 Mile boats - Trailer boats can use the main ramp at the end of Lake Terrace or any other ramp of your choice. The crane will be available adjacent to the boat ramp Please remember that ramp passes are required to launch boats and you must purchase your passes from the Harbour Masters office. Please be organised and quick - give others consideration at the ramp.
MEET AND GREET SATURDAY 30 TH JANUARY AT PITCH BAR Meet and Greet will be held from 5pm at the Pitch Bar, 38-40 Tuwharetoa Street, Taupo. The bar will be putting on some nibbles for our group and will also have a band playing. It is suggested that we arrive early as the town will be busy on Saturday evening with all the concert goers. PRIZE GIVING SUNDAY 31 ST AT SUNCOURT MOTEL The Saturday night prizegiving will be held at Suncourt Motel from 6:00 pm. A buffet dinner has been organised at a cost $15pp (children under 12, $10pp) from 6:30 pm. Prizegiving will start at approximately 7:30 pm. Music We have hired a DJ which will start with some great music after dinner from 8:30 pm.

(Please utilise the local taxi s and shuttle buses if you are not within walking distance of the Suncourt.)
