The Rock Creek Collaborative The introductions were completed by all those attending. Tom Guidice represented cera regarding recent activities. This mainly consisted of the status of the Fools Gold Enduro. The watering of the start area was of concern. The USFS was very interested in what our plans were. Luckily, after our last club meeting we did in fact have plan in place where we are going to use reclaimed water from our area. Paul Machi has a large water container and will bring it up to the event. This will be used to water down the start line only. The USFS seemed to accept our plan. The USFS brought up an event only trail in the Sailor Ravine area that required work. Rick agreed that cera would take care of request and scheduled it for the following weekend for completion. The requested work was completed. Ecological Restoration Much discussion came about regarding the OHV Grant money being awarded to the Center for Sierra Nevada Conservation (CSNC) group. As you recall this was group headed up by Karen Schambach. As it turns out that in 2014 a Memorandum Of Understanding (MOU) was drafted up in 2014 and signed by both parties the USDA Forest Service El Dorado National Forest and CSNC. The purpose of this MOU is to document the cooperation between the parties to established mutual communication and coordination between the U.S. Forest Service and CSNC to assure consistency in process and outcomes that is mutually beneficial that will complement the Region 5 Ecological Restoration Leadership Intent and implementation Plan. This regular, consistent communications intended to build positive working relationships, produce opportunities and action that further a successful restoration program. Such opportunities include, but are not limited to, road and trail restoration; inventory and monitoring of watershed conditions and sources of sediment, and build capacity for restoration activities on the U.S. Forest Service Lands. 2015 Fools Gold Enduro May 3,2015 Enduro Coordination By Committee Charlie Hirst, Rick Guidice, Tony Godrich, Bob Jones, Bill McGibbon, Russ Drake, Ton Guidice and many more.. Check this out: Activities identified (in areas where OHVs have traveled illegally of the designated routs, downed woody materials, logs and cut branches would be placed to discourage vehicle and posts with the inscriptions of No Vehicles ) are restoration activities. This is all very interesting stuff. All I can say is that you need to get involved and find out just how your OHV money is being spent. Check out: http://wwwfsusda.gov/r5 Get informed! Page 2

Bob Jones and Rick Guidice were a big help with the cutting and installation. Thank you! Bob Jones and Rick Guidice pictured here with picks and shovels. They are filling ruts and cutting water bars in the Sailor Ravine area (Billy s Cut). They are working hard to meet a USFS request. Rick clearing a fallen log out of Crosier Loop Trail This took two cuts from each side to get through the dead fall. Nice work Rick, the riders will appreciate your hard work. Cera Fools Gold BBQ Information Fool s Gold Enduro Weekend of Saturday May 2 nd & Sunday 3rd, 2015 Dear CERA member or associate, This year we are having a BBQ on Saturday night before our Fools Gold Enduro catered by Back Forty BBQ from Shingle Springs. If you wish to attend and have not notified Tony Godrich yet by email, please do so now (godrich@ieee.org). This BBQ is open to any person who is helping in any aspect at the Fools Gold. They do not have to be club members. If you know of other clubs or non-members coming up to help, please extend our invitation to them as well. We have arranged for food for 50 people, but we need an accurate head count in case we get more than 50 people attending the BBQ. We can easily add more people, but we need to know ahead of time so that we get the order to the caterer. The club has chosen this year to subsidize over half the cost. So the cost is as follows: Adults: $10 Teens: $5 Kids: Free Payment can be made by sending a check payable to CERA to: Tony Godrich 5746 Daphne Drive Livermore, CA 94550 Cutoff for sending a check is Sunday, April 26. If you miss that date, you should bring your money to the BBQ. But please let Tony know if you are coming even if you miss this date so you get on the list. Payment ahead of time will assure you a place in the BBQ. The menu: slow cooked beef ribs slow cooked brisket roasted chicken pasta salad potato salad beans green salad Dessert is up to us. We can potluck the dessert and those who wish to bring one to share are welcome to. You also supply whatever drink you desire. Plates and utensils are provided.
