Visa Requirements Visas are required by SA passport holders. All applicants then need to appear in person, with fingerprinting mandatory.the enrolment (fingerprinting and photo) is required for each visa application even if the applicant had previously obtained several visas. In special cases, a medical certificate will be required (ie physically disabled pax etc) Visas can be collected by a third party, however the original copy of the receipt of enrolment, a power of attorney letter signed by the applicant and a photocopy of the applicant s ID need to be presented. PLEASE NOTE THAT VISA FEES ARE NO LONGER REQUIRED FOR ANY PASSENGERS TRAVELING TO SENEGAL. South African passport holders require a visa to enter Senegal..Visa may be collected by a thirdparty, however the original copy of the receipt of enrolment, a power of attorney letter signed by the applicant and a photocopy of his ID needs to be presented. Note: For non-listed diplomatic representations, the visa will be issued at the airport. To avoid the queues at the Dakar Leopold Sedar Senghor International Airport, it is HIGHLY recommended to get a Visa for Diplomatic Representation in your geographical area. Make sure you have the following : *Passport * Airticket * Hotel reservation * Name, address, ID number of your contact in Senegal. Requirements : 1. Two (2) colour ID photos 2. Visa application form duly completed and signed by the applicant 3. Passport valid for at least six months. Ensure there are at least 6 blank pages. 4. Photocopy of the first page 5. Detailed itinerary and proof of airticket/reservation 6. Copy of proof of ownership if the applicant is the owner of the house in Senegal 7. Outside of Dakar, medical facilities are very limited and ill-equipped. When visiting a village, it is polite to call upon the village headman. Senegal is a Muslim society, and respect to religious customs should also be shown during the month of Ramadan. Clothing should be modest and swimwear should be reserved for the beach. Displays of affection between men and women should be avoided. Smoking is prohibited in some public places. Homosexuality is illegal. There are often police checkpoints at the entrance and exit to villages to enforce speed restrictions; fines are paid on the spot. ATM s are limited outside the city and may not accept foreign cards. 200 cigarettes or 50 cigars or 250g of tobacco. 1 bottle of spirits and 1 bottle of wine. 1 bottle of perfume and 1 bottle of eau de toilette.
