March 2016 MEMBER OF THE MONTH DON TAYLOR 2016 OFFICERS PRESIDENT CHRIS VALENTINO 817-247-9204 shelbee350@aol.com VICE PRESIDENT Drew Peterson 602-410-5255 Pending e-mail SECRETARY Alyce Ancell 480-983-2510 R.ancell@q.com TREASURER Ethel Marques 480-654-6287 tinytubes@cox.net SGT. AT ARMS Sarah Talahongva Sa.tala05@gmail.com It s an honor to be chosen as the member of the month. I have greatly enjoyed my time in the club and getting to know a great bunch of people who share my enthusiasm for all things Mustang. I started with Mustangs in high school in West Texas, when I had a 66 coupe. It was Nightmist blue and a six-banger. Unfortunately, the car was destroyed by a drunk driver (not me, it was parked) on Halloween night in 1986. Later, I had an 86 Mustang. Until recently, I was driving a 2005 GT convertible, until I sold it to buy my wife a truck. She misses the Mustang almost as much as I do. My current Mustang has not been on the road in at least 30 years. It s a 66 C- code convertible, which seems to have more rust than solid metal at the moment. It came from the factory in Silver Blue with a blue and white deluxe interior. Someday (hopefully sooner rather than later) it will be beautiful again. Thank you, Don

Pancake Breakfast Recap PANCAKES IN THE PARK Another grand CMC event occurred on February 14 th valentine day. It was our annual pancake picnic at the North Mountain Preserve in Phoenix amid sunny skies and warm weather. About 52 Club members and guests turned out with 20 Mustangs. Our Club provided the pancakes, sausage and bacon that were cooked on site by Becky, Paul, Dan and Larry. Dan served up the coffee and supplied logistic support while JoAnn, Jim and guest Jo- Ann carved the grapefruit imported from the Martorano home orchard. Tom Martin administered games for our entertainment. Game winners were awarded attractive prizes. Picnic attendees voted for their TOP TEN Mustang choices in the parking lot. Gold Medals were awarded to Phyllis, Catherine, Ron, Gary, Joice, Bill, JoAnn, Sarah, Rich and Jack. President Chris chaired the February business meeting among the ramada picnic tables. Thanks Beck and company for putting it all together.

Cruise To Miami Recap Cruising to Miami What a beautiful spring day it was on Feb 27. Leaving from Mesa we drove 165 miles. We had 11 cars, most of which were Mustangs, raring to go. We caravanned East onus 60 having no problem with traffic lights or Renaissance traffic. In Superior, we headed south and traveled through mountains, valleys and beautiful mountain curvy countryside with full bloom of spring flowers and cactus shinning all the way. After making an emergency necessary break, we continued to a vista overlook which was a site to see for all. Pictures taken and snack eaten, we drove to Globe and then Miami. Parking spots were saved for us on the street in front of the Soda Pops ice cream parlor. Everyone went into the old time shop and ordered just what they wanted from malts, cones, sundaes, pies, or brownie sundaes and much more. Conversations were going on all over from the stools at the counter to the booths. When refreshment were gone, several when to check out the local shops and antique stores before heading home.. Great trip for all.
