Celebrating our first time together as YMCA of Bucks County, 2019 will be a memorable summer, in which thousands of campers, of all ages, will get to experience what it truly means to be Bucks County Strong! Campers who are enrolled in Adventure Camps will be swimming twice a week on Tuesdays and Thursdays (with the exception of Junior Adventure/Frog campers). Campers are bused to and from William Tennet High School for open swim. As safety is our top priority, all campers are swim tested before entering the water. Each child wears a bracelet of swim level through our Swim, Mark, Protect program, specifically modified for camp. For this reason, your child s swim level during camp may differ from their level in typical rec swim. In addition to counselors being in the water with campers, the Y also provides certified lifeguards. PARENT TIPS: Are you considering registering for 3-day Adventure camp? In addition to which day swimming takes place, also keep in mind the following when choosing your days: Many campers begin the week on a Monday (many friendships made!) Most Special Events will take place on the Friday Funday! TEEN CAMP COUNSELOR IN TRAINING (CIT) Weeks 1-10 9 AM-4 PM 8th-10th Grade Our widely popular teen camp puts your teen into an environment where he/she will begin to develop into a young leader. CITs have the opportunity to be a part of sports, specialty and Adventure camps. CITs can begin their summer on the week of their choice. SWIMMING! SPORTS CAMPS FLOOR HOCKEY 3 rd -7 th GRADE Learn the basics of hockey indoors at our Y. Participants will learn stick handling, passing, shooting, and terminology. Campers will take part in game play each day. The week will conclude with a final game that will include music and player announcements. Sticks not required. BASKETBALL K-7 th GRADE Players are divided into teams by age and participate in four skill stations each day. Stations help develop dribbling, shooting, passing and defensive skills. Players take part in game play each day as well. The week concludes with our Final Four and NBA Finals games. LACROSSE K-7 th GRADE Campers are taught cradling, passing, shooting and defense. Skills are taught in a learning environment. This camp is great for beginners and players looking to develop their skills. Stick not required. SOCCER K-7 th GRADE Players are divided into teams by age and participate in four skill stations a day. Stations help develop dribbling, shooting, passing and defensive technique. Players show off their country pride at our World Cup on Friday. Shin guards recommended. CHEERLEADING K-7 th GRADE Campers will be introduced to the fundamentals of cheerleading, including chants, motion, tumbling, stunting and jumps. They will have the opportunity to demonstrate their support and enthusiasm by performing a routine and cheering on other campers. Parents welcome to attend on Friday. OUTDOOR SUPER SPORTS K-7 th GRADE Beat the heat and learn a different sport each day of the week! Older participants will learn basketball, indoor soccer, floor hockey and volleyball. The younger group will participate in two days of basketball, indoor soccer, and floor hockey. Each week will close with a multi sports day! FLAG FOOTBALL K-7 th GRADE Players are divided into teams by age and participate in four skill stations each day. Stations help develop passing, route running and defensive skills. Players compete each day in games and learn to call their own plays as the week progresses. The week concludes with the Y Super Bowl. AFTERNOON SPORTS K-3 rd and 4 th -7 th This camp is divided into a boys and girls section. The campers are split up based on their ages and will stay active in the afternoon by playing a variety of sports and cooperative games throughout the week. 55

SPECIALTY CAMPS ARCHERY 3 rd -7 th GRADE Available in both the morning and afternoon, this camp serves as an introduction to archery. Spend time learning terminology, maintenance, history and of course, shooting! FISHING 1 st -7 th GRADE Spend the week at local waterways as we try our luck while learning about knot tying, ecology, and stewardship. All campers must provide their own fishing rod. Bait will be provided. ART 1 st -7 th GRADE Express your creativity as we cover weekly art projects learning about art history along the way. Morning sessions will be a beginner course with the afternoon sessions being more advanced, including a friday gallery showcasing the campers work. JEWELRY MAKING 3 rd -7 th GRADE Do you love jewelry but find that it s just too expensive? Lets make our own then! Campers will create wearable art using different media and recycled materials. Campers are encouraged to brainstorm new uses for recyclables and found materials, making art that is both fun and ecologically sustainable and fun! DANCE 1 st -7 th GRADE Explore weekly focuses as we work on technique, develop routines and have fun! Classes in modern, ballet and hip hop enhance students coordination, alignment, musicality and compositional skills. PHOTOGRAPHY 3 rd -7 th GRADE Campers will focus on learning the basics of how a camera works and then explore the many processes of image making. Parents are invited to enjoy a photo gallery on Friday! Please bring your own camera. POTTERY 1 st -7 th GRADE Campers will learn new sculpting techniques while working with different types of clays. We will then use these techniques to form creative figurines, pinch pots, and decorative tiles. They will also use other medias like paint to make their new creations come to life. DRAMA 3 rd -7 th GRADE This camp is all about acting, moving and exploring the art of storytelling. Campers will hone their performance skills and gain confidence through lessons, fun activities and improvisational games! MUSICAL THEATER 1 st -7 th GRADE Act, sing, dance, make props and costumes, design sets and experience musical theatre both on stage and behind the scenes. Campers will have fun while learning about what it takes to put on a musical theater production. The culminating experience is the performance of Beauty and the Beast Jr for friends and family. We welcome all levels of experience to join in the fun! 8

Applications have been reviewed and all families who financially qualified have been sent an approved contact. Upon receiving a contract, families have until the end of day Friday, April 19, to submit the camp registration packet to the Welcome Center.
