Volume 9 Issue 8 ALL ABOARD August 2016 Well Summer s heat is here with a vengeance and most of us who aren t involved in outdoor railroading are enjoying the air conditioning. Not much to report this month besides the purchase of the large radius curve modules that will allow us to run full sized passenger cars on TTrak modules. These modules, which Pam brought to our attention, are 19 radius curves. Pam had gotten some for her home layout and when we heard about them we decided to get some for the club. These are made by Masterpiece Modules and are now a stock item on the store website. We will be participating at the AMRE Show October 1&2. We will have a TTrak layout of approximately 26 X 36. Final layout design is in the works. Later this month we will have a wiring workshop and module tune-up session Aug 27. This is to ensure we are ready for the upcoming shows. We now return you to our regularly scheduled monthly meeting. Which by the way is this Saturday the 13th at Hobbytown USA, where all SANTRAK members receive a 10% discount on purchases. Ya ll come now ya hear. Dick seconded the motion, and membership voted to approve. Meeting adjourned at 11:12 am B Williams Stationmaster

Volume 7 9 Issue 8 Page 7 Superintendent s Page From the Superintendent s Desk: Well the hot days are summer are upon us so I took advantage of the old saying - "When the summer gets hot, the hot go to Michigan". My wife and I drove to Ann Arbor to see our daughter and we have made some interesting stops along the way. There is a great model railroad hobby shop in Jacksonville, Arkansas. The shop's name is Rail and Sprue Hobbies. Jacksonville is just north of Little Rock. The shop was very well stocked, had an operating Z scale layout and an HO - HOn3 modular layout under construction. We also spent a day at the Henry Ford Museum in Dearborn. It was cool to sit in a cab of an Allegheny (2-6-6-6 for any of you non steam or non C&O fans). Now back to club business - We will be at the AMRE show and the New Braunfels' show. We will also set up at Hobby Town after the meeting so bring your TTrak modules down. We will need to schedule a couple of work sessions to check out and make repairs to the modules we want to use at the shows. The schedule will depend somewhat on how well Frank is recovering from his knee surgery. At the last meeting the club elected to build 4 large radius corners that will be the club's only club owned TTrak modules. All the supplies are in so we can either start building these as a demo at Hobby Town on Saturday afternoon, or club members can take a corner module kit and the track home to build one. Stay safe and stay cool. If you have any questions please feel free to Email me or call me in the evenings (210-884- 6863
