When the PIAA and District 3 added a classification in 1974, it could no longer be determined precisely when a milestone was reached... with one notable exception. By coincidence, the last of the two heavyweights to win in 1997 would be the 1,000 th champion. Wyomissing s Pete Orwig won his 275-AA championship at Conestoga Valley High School approximately 7-8 minutes after Ephrata s Pete Mielnik won the 275-AAA title at Shippensburg University, making Orwig the 1,000 th champion. Almost all other milestones are estimates, thus both the Class AAA and Class AA wrestler at the weight are listed. Beginning in 2004, both the Class AAA and Class AA finals were moved to Hersheypark Arena and wrestled simultaneously, thus milestones again became determinable. 750: Joey Wildasin, South Western, 119-AAA, Jeff Torok, Wyomissing, 119-AA, 1988 800: Scott Mitchell, Warwick, 125-AAA, 1990 Rob Eckman, Lamp-Strasburg, 125-AA, 1990 850: Jose Colon, J.P. McCaskey, 119-AAA, 1992 Alan Perez, Middletown, 119-AA, 1992 900: Jeff Gibble, Wilson, 112-AAA, 1994 Matt McMullen, Juniata, 112-AA, 1994 950: Mike Khan, Harrisburg, 103-AAA, 1996 Derek Sola, Conrad Weiser, 103-AA, 1996 1,000: Pete Orwig, Wyomissing, 275-AA, 1997 1,050: Jon Sauve, Cumberland Valley, 189-AAA, 1999 Jarred Dressler, Juniata, 189-AA, 1999
