The Commodore s Ball was exceptionally nice and very well attended. We had a fun 3 night cruise up to Tween Waters Inn on Captiva Island. There are all kinds of activities planned for the next months. I hope you will be able to attend some or all of them. There are flyers for all the activities in the Lubbers Line. Please advise the event captains of each event that you would like to attend. The next overnight cruise will be to South Seas Resort on Captiva Island on February 17-20. You need to make your own reservations at the resort if you plan to go. There will be a Captain s meeting on Wednesday, February 13 at 3pm at 1845 Woodbine Court. If you are able to attend, we will get organized at that meeting. Thank you for all that you do to make our club so active and successful! Commodore Deena Procopio 1
VICE COMMODORE S REPORT Dear Marco Cruise Club Friends: Greetings and Happy New Year!!! The year has gotten off to a great start with the Commodore s Ball and Change of Watch on January 16 th. As the inaugural report as the Vice Commodore, I won t ask any nautical questions, but be prepared for them in the future! We changed the time for dinner for the January general membership meeting to before the meeting at 5:00 and it was a tremendous success with 20 members participating. The camaraderie continued at the membership meeting where Kelly Kirk, from Kirk Seafood Co, provided detailed information on stone crabs and traps. Members continued to socialize after the meeting was adjourned over coffee and dessert. The month of February has some wonderful social and boating activities scheduled, such as lunch at Island Gypsy, a boat trip to Blackwater River, a three night cruise to South Seas, and a Pig Roast on Feb 21st at Sarazen Park. Please review the Lubbers Line for more detailed information on all the events planned. The Marco Cruise Club Bridge and Board of Directors will begin planning next season s events in the next few months. Your input and suggestions are welcome. If you have any specific events or restaurants you would like the club to include on next year s calendar, please contact me. As I mentioned at the January general membership meeting, new members are important to the vitality and continuation of the club. Please feel free to invite any friends or acquaintances to the MCC social events for them to learn more about us. Additionally, if you have suggestions on how to market and promote the Marco Cruise Club, kindly contact me. I look forward to serving all of you in the post of Vice Commodore. And again, as I stated previously, each member of the Marco Cruise Club is a valuable asset and important to the success of the club. Todd Whitney 2

A DELICIOUS WAY TO GET YOUR TUMERIC I don't particularly like the taste of tumeric and I don't want to take capsules. I found an easy, delicious way to get your tumeric at breakfast time Tumeric scrambled eggs In a non-stick pan, melt one tablespoon butter. Put 1/2 teaspoon of tumeric and cook lightly for 30 sec. Scramble two eggs in a dish and pour into pot. Cook and scramble the eggs lightly and serve Added option is top with fresh dill, parsley, scallions. add salt and pepper to taste From Captain John's Kitchen 21
