This week we met at The Falls Restaurant with Henderson Rotary as our guests to celebrate this milestone and check out the Peace Garden that our combined Clubs built in August 1999 and formally dedicated 10 years ago on 23 rd Feb 2000. It was a vibrant evening with much talk, laughter and good cheer.

Barbara, Jack and Marilyn in the garden The plaque dedicated to the memory of Don Page Ross, Craiger, Jim and Roger Marilyn, Jack and Barbara Mingling by the rotunda John Wordsworth Walking back to dessert John has at various times been a police detective, in the armed defenders squad, a pastor in the Salvation Army and is now an entrepreneur running a café in Brisbane. Despite a bout with throat cancer, an event that has left him with a rather husky voice, he gave an excellent speech which we could all hear even with the sound system performing slightly erratically. John s varied career has taken him to various parts of the world, including the Congo. His message to us was: - Wherever possible live in peace with others - Brighten the corner of the world where we are.
