The discussion over-ran into Town Council time. TO RECEIVE APOLOGIES FOR ABSENCE Councillor A Thwaites (due to illness) TO RECEIVE DECLARATIONS OF INTEREST IN ITEMS ON THE AGENDA A Declaration of Interest was received from Councillor J Harris for agenda item DC/12/0345/FUL as he is a near neighbour and sent objections. TO RECEIVE AND THE MINUTES OF THE PLANNING COMMITTEE HELD ON TUESDAY 3 rd APRIL 2012 AS A CORRECT RECORD RESOLVED that the Planning Minutes of Tuesday 3 rd April 2012 be received and approved as a correct record In order not to disturb the meeting too much, the Chairman brought forward agenda item DC/12/0345/FUL - Rosedale Funeral Home Ltd and asked that Councillor Harris leave the meeting. TO RECEIVE PLANNING APPLICATIONS AS LISTED NUMBER SITE ADDRESS DETAILS DC/12/0345/FUL DC/12/0346/LBC Mr S Beckett-Allen Rosedale Funeral Home Ltd 22 Hungate Demolition of external store, construction of hearse and limousine garage with attached coffin dressing workshop and re-site existing garden shed. Listed Building Consent as above. A number of objections had been received. The height of the roof was in question, which considerably spoilt the view of neighbours. A proposal to alter the roof was suggested although the application as submitted was within Planning Policy. After further discussion it was agreed to DEFER this application and to request that Rosedale Funeral Home Ltd be asked to re-submit further plans with the suggested alteration to the pitched roof on both the south and west sides. Councillor J Harris was then asked back to the meeting A member of the public left the meeting after this item.

Replace existing front door and frame plus carry out repairs and repointing to front brickwork. Listed Building Consent - as above Erection of a front boundary wall Construction of a new ramped access to the rear Construction of a rear extension Demolition of existing garage blocks and construction of 8no two-storey semi detached houses REFUSE - overcrowded infill housing, gross overlooking, - original planning permission required off-street parking for residents (why has this changed), poor access for emergency and service vehicles. Many objection letters had been received and these will be forwarded to Waveney Planners. The Chairman agreed to a member of the public speaking on this item. Points raised by the speaker were - flooding issues, no access for emergency vehicles and dustcarts, lack of security, drainage, overlooking on all sides and the adverse effect it would have with over 19 cars being pushed back onto the highway in this extremely restricted small road. The existing garages had never been maintained by WDC and with asbestos in the roof space, concern of dust particles in the air if garages were demolished was paramount for neighbouring residents in close proximity. Members discussed this application in detail outlining the need for an open space in this extremely saturated housing estate as well as a loss of privacy to those in Queen Elizabeth Drive. The proposed houses were for families, and the lack of garden space was obvious and quality of life for the community in this area was questioned.
