Listed Building Consent - as above Erection of a front boundary wall Construction of a new ramped access to the rear Construction of a rear extension Demolition of existing garage blocks and construction of 8no two-storey semi detached houses REFUSE - overcrowded infill housing, gross overlooking, - original planning permission required off-street parking for residents (why has this changed), poor access for emergency and service vehicles. Many objection letters had been received and these will be forwarded to Waveney Planners. The Chairman agreed to a member of the public speaking on this item. Points raised by the speaker were - flooding issues, no access for emergency vehicles and dustcarts, lack of security, drainage, overlooking on all sides and the adverse effect it would have with over 19 cars being pushed back onto the highway in this extremely restricted small road. The existing garages had never been maintained by WDC and with asbestos in the roof space, concern of dust particles in the air if garages were demolished was paramount for neighbouring residents in close proximity. Members discussed this application in detail outlining the need for an open space in this extremely saturated housing estate as well as a loss of privacy to those in Queen Elizabeth Drive. The proposed houses were for families, and the lack of garden space was obvious and quality of life for the community in this area was questioned.
