Day 1 Arrive Penrith Station Meet your private outdoor guide & driver this morning and transfer into the heart of the enchanting Lake District National Park to a traditional lakeside retreat which will be your base for the next few nights. Overnight: Inn On The Lake Hotel Lakes
Day 2-3 Guided Hiking Lakes Take to the water as you board a traditional lakes steam boat and travel to various drop off points on Lake Ullswater to enjoy some guided hiking (& wildlife spotting) in and around some of England s most dramatic mountains and fells. Your guide is on hand and will tailor the experience accordingly. Overnight: Inn On The Lake Hotel Lakes
Day 4 Scotland s Dramatic West Coast Meet your guide after breakfast this morning and transfer north into Scotland. En route enjoy a short guided hike in Loch Lomond National Park before continuing on to the west coast town of Fort William and your 5 - star castle hotel located beneath Ben Nevis - the perfect base from which to explore the beauty of the West Highlands of Scotland! Overnight: Inverlochy Hotel Fort-William
Day 5 Hiking West Highlands Your outdoor guide will meet you in reception this morning to discuss a number of local hiking options. Options here include venturing into Glen Nevis to enjoy one of the UK s most scenic hikes to Steall Falls featured in Mel Gibson s Brave Heart or for the more athletic tackling Ben Nevisthe UK s highest peak! Day 6 West Coast Sea Kayak Adventure Today try sea kayaking as you explore the stunning Sound of Arisaig with your guide, which has lots of tiny desert islands. This beautiful stretch of water offers excellent sea kayaking in fairly sheltered waters. It is also an excellent place for seeing marine wildlife such as seals, otters or even dolphins. There will be plenty of breaks during the day to ensure that no-one gets too tired. Return to your hotel late afternoon with a stop en route at the Glenfinnan Viaduct and icon of Scottish engineering and made famous more recently in the Harry Potter films. Day 7 Loch Ness & Culloden Battlefield Today we transfer inland towards the UK s largest National Park. En route we enjoy a guided hike (and some monster spotting!) in the mountains above Loch Ness. Later we continue to Inverness and the historic Culloden Battlefield to learn about the Jacobite uprising and the last battle to be fought on British soil! You will then be transferred to your boutique country house hotel ideally located on the fringe of the Cairngorms National Park. Overnight: Killiehuntly Farmhouse Cairngorms
Day 8 Biking Cairngorms National Park After a hearty Scottish breakfast meet your guide and transfer into the heart of the Cairngorms National Park- a haven for outdoor pursuits including hiking, biking & wildlife. We'll take our mountain bikes on an off-road journey through the ancient forests, seeking out the wildlife as we ride. The trails are suitable for all abilities and pass through spectacular scenery. After what is sure to be a full days adventure we toast the days end with a visit to a local whisky distillery before returning to your hotel to relax and unwind before dinner. Day 9 Transfer to Scotland s Ancient Capital This morning we will journey south to the city of Edinburgh. After checking in to your hotel accommodation in Edinburgh, you will have the rest of the afternoon and evening free to explore the many highlights of Scotland s ancient capital. Overnight: The Balmoral Hotel Edinburgh
Day 10 Departure Private transfer this morning to airport or train station to make your return connection for journey home.
