Secretary s Report The Central Florida VW Club met at the Five and Diner on the 14 th of July. Those in attendance were: Rollie Walker, Will and Joan Euverard, Debbie and Richard Van Treuren, Don Steiner, Saul Klein, Chris Hobbs and Madison, Wayne Johnson and Russel Becker. We also have a new member, Scott Feldman of Orlando. Welcome! The Meeting began at 2 pm. Mostly it was a catch up and to see what everyone is up to sort of meeting. Richard showed pictures of the trip to Europe and the many, many models of VWs not sold in the US as well as the pics from the big GTi International at the Bruntingthorpe Proving Grounds, north of London, England. Will talked about a neat umbrella his Kiwanis Club is selling to raise funds for their various projects. Talk to Will if you are interested. Saul talked about a very winding road called Tail of the Dragon on the North Carolina/Georgia Border his MG club recently enjoyed. There are 318 curves in 11 miles! If you want to see some pictures www.mgcarclubfl.org has a few. On August 11 th, the club meeting place moves to Edgewater and the Van Treuren Dome. The Club will supply Hot Dogs and Hamburgers and the trimmings. Everyone is asked to bring a dish to share. Joan is bringing dessert, Chris is bringing Mac and Cheese, Debbie will do a veggie tray and iced tea, everyone else please fill in with things you like. Please call Deb at 386-689-2709 to let me know if you are coming and how many you will be bringing. Or email deborah_v@cfl.rr.com. Please do that by Friday so I can shop and make sure there is enough food for everyone. Map attached. There will be no Bugs in the Hangar Show this year. That venue is not available. Next year? Also, Joan mentioned that District 46 is closed up tight. We may be shopping for a new venue for our show in March. Also the NEW Aristocrat VW East is now open. It is located on Hwy 50 (Colonial Drive) at Hwy 408 in east Orlando. http://www.aristocratvweast.com Meeting adjourned about 3:30pm. Minutes submitted by Deborah Van Treuren, Secretary
