How do I know if I am registered at the Conference? You can see the list of participants of FIDES 2015 here. If your name is on the list, means that you are registered, if it s not, means that either you are not or you don t have the Delegate or Observer category, so you should read question 6. 2. What is the difference between observer and delegate? "Delegates" are people who belong to a company that, in turn, is an active member or adherent of the Inter-American Federation of insurance companies (FIDES). "Observers" are people who do not belong to a company that is an active member or adherent of the Inter-American Federation of insurance companies (FIDES). 3. Being registered or listed in the participant s list means being "accredited"? NO, accreditation is a process in which is given the credentials or personal badge to enter events, Conference and tours (in the case of companions), since you must always carry the personal badge to enter anyone of the events. 4. Where and when can I do the accreditation? For accreditation, the Organization will have the following areas:
At the airport on Saturday 24 and Sunday 25. There will be a Fides boost from 7 am to 0:30 am (next day) each day. At the W Hotel (1 and - 4 floors), Saturday 24 and Sunday 25 from 9 am to 6 pm, and Monday 26 and Tuesday 27 from 7:30 am to 5:30 pm. What types of badges exist and what do they mean? There will be 8 different types of badges. Each has implications with respect to the type of event that you can attend. For this reason, it is important that you carry all the time your personal badge with you. 7. How do I know which events have I the right to enter? The "delegates" and "observers" have full access to all the conferences, to the welcome cocktail and Gala dinner. The companions of the delegates and observers, can get up to the companion s tour every day, go to the welcome cocktail and the Gala dinner. The "Conference delegates" have full access to all conferences and welcome cocktail. " Conference Companion" have access to the welcome cocktail and the Gala dinner. The "Press" has full access to all conferences The "Host ExpoFides" have access to the W hotel Convention Center and to stay in their respective Stand/Studio or salon.
The "visit - supplier" are people who give support to exhibitors of ExpoFides and remain some minutes at the Convention Center. 8. What do I do if I lost my badge? You have to go to the accreditation boost at the floor 1 W Hotel and ask for a new valid one. TRANSFERS AND HOTELS 9. Will there be transportation available for attendees? The Organization has arranged courtesy buses for attendees: - Saturday 24 and Sunday 25: from the Airport to the official hotels of FIDES 2015 area, from 7 am to 11 pm - Sunday 25: from the W Hotel to the place of the inauguration cocktail (Parque Araucano) since 6 pm, and return to hotels since 9 pm - Tuesday 27: from the W Hotel to the place of the Gala dinner (Club Hipico) from 6:15pm, and return to hotels from 11:15 pm - Wednesday 28 and Thursday 29: from the W Hotel to the Airport, from 12 pm to 10:30 pm on Wednesday, and from 6:30 am to 10:30 pm on Thursday. 10. What are the "official hotels"? Those whose offer has being made available through the FIDES web site and hotels which basically are those who are in the vicinity of the Venue Hotel. 11. What if I booked my hotel directly? If the hotel is among the official hotels, there will be transportation to them; otherwise, you must provide your own transportation. 12. Will there be transportation between official hotels and the venue hotel? Yes, although most of the hotels are just a short distance from the Venue hotel, for those more remote hotels there will be available courtesy vans that will make the journey on a regular basis. 13. EVENTS AND LOCATIONS OF FIDES 2015 14. What events are happening during FIDES 2015? Officially there are 5 events that happen during the Conference: The Conference itself or academic program, goes on during the mornings of Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. The Expofides, where about 60 exhibitors are showing their products and services to the attendees The official 2 social events: Welcome cocktail, on Sunday, and Gala dinner on Tuesday The companion s tour that take place every day with a duration and specific program 15. Where are the conferences and social events of FIDES 2015? Conference and ExpoFides: will take place at the Convention Center of the W Hotel (calle Isidora Goyenechea 3000, Las Condes, + 56 2 2770 0000), which is located on the floor - 3.
Welcome cocktail: will be held at Parque Araucano on Sunday 25 (entrance through Presidente Riesco Street, at the intersection with Manquehue Sur Street). While most of the dinner takes place inside, the previous cocktail will be outdoors, which is why we recommend taking precautions for low temperatures Conference: no dressing code THE COMPANIONS TOUR 17. I am registered as a companion, where do I have to catch the tour? Each day, according to the companion s program, there will be buses at the entrance of W hotel that will do the tour. 18. What should I bring? First, you must wear your badge; otherwise you cannot get up the bus. Then, you must take money if you want to buy some souvenir. The lunch on Monday and Tuesday are included. 19. On Wednesday it says that there are two options, how do I choose one? Would there be a "meeting point"? Yes, there will be one located in the center of conventions floor (- 3) and other on the floor 1 of the W Hotel. CLIMATE, ELECTRICITY AND CURRENCY 22. How is climate in Santiago? Latitude, elevation, and proximity to the Cordillera de Los Andes determine the climate in Santiago. It is spring time, therefore temperatures may range quite during the day and night, and there can also have rain. Normally, the temperatures in the day reached the 72 to 77 F and during the night between 43 to 50 F. 23. What type of voltage is there in Chile? In Chile, the electric current is 220 volts and 50 Mhz and plugs are type C / L 24. What currency is used in Chile? The unit of currency is the Chilean peso ($ or CLP). The equivalence with the dollar/euro follows the market every day. You may exchange money freely in banks and exchange houses, hotels or airport and don't need any special documents.
