Also congratulations to our meeting ticket winners Julie Ferra, Dave Lewis, and the 50/50 winner Rick Levenson. The ride ticket winners were Kari Wekseth, Paul Tillotson, and Eddie Haddad. Congratulations to everyone! The trivia question this month is In 1929 Vivian Bales visited dealers and dignitaries on a ride from Albany, Georgia to and from Milwaukee, earning her what title? Hello everyone! DIRECTOR S SADDLE Well, June was a busy month for SNHOG and July has plenty of events taking place. I d like to take a minute to thank the team from Red Rock and Las Vegas Harley for providing our chapter with great bbq at the June picnic! Also, we had another evening ride in June. This time 30 of us went to Mt Charleston. The temperature at Red Rock Harley was 100 degrees when we left and the temperature at the lodge was a balmy 61 degrees when we arrived!!! As a reminder, with the exception of the NOP Golf Tournament which took place a few days ago, there are several riding events and of course the evening out at the 51 s ball game supporting the NOP taking place the first part of July. Make sure that you take a look at the email blasts that are being sent out frequently so that you don t miss out on any of these events. A big thank you goes out to all of our chapter members who graciously volunteer their time and money to help out with the different events that are put on by the dealerships including the Red Rocktoberfest, Chilly Buns Poker Run, Frosty Balls Poker Run, and even the SNHOG Chapter picnic. I know it s not much but as a way of showing my appreciation, every person that volunteers for 1 of these events, will have a Ride or Meeting ticket placed in the bucket for a chance to win 1 of the $25 gift cards that get drawn at every General Membership meeting. Candace, from the Law Tigers Law Firm, has been very generous to our chapter as she has donated several gift cards, a nice donation to the NOP and will be advertising in our Silver Eagle Newsletter. Hopefully, none of us will need their services, but it s nice to know that there is a place to turn to just in case! Last month, I mentioned that 3 gentlemen from the Munich Hog Chapter had joined us at the May Meet and Eat in Green Valley and were about to embark on a 2600 mile journey thru the Southwest. Well, they met us again at the June Meet and Eat and had extremely great things to say about their trip and shared stories of the wonderful people that they met along the way. They even met and had a conversation with a Hells Angel chapter member who actually gave them each a hug as they departed!! Go figure. Congratulations to all of the chapter members who have purchased new bikes this year!!! If you haven t test rode one of the 2017, 2018 line up of bikes, man, you owe it to yourself to give one a try! They are fantastic!! The 2019 s will be coming out soon and I can t wait to see the new colors! One last thing, summer is in full swing and you really need to make sure that you re staying hydrated! Water, Gatorade and Recharge are the best. Try to stay away from sugary drinks. Ride Safe and Have Fun!!! Randy Page!2

ROAD CAPTAIN ARTICLE Recently I had the opportunity to attend the Championship Riding School that was being held at Red Rock Harley-Davidson. The class itself was phenomenal and the instructors, Nick Ienatsch, Damon Schuetze and our own Steve Ritchey did a wonderful job of showing us how to improve our riding. The techniques that we were shown and then practiced put the students on a path to better manage and control tire grip. Now I m not going to attempt to explain these techniques in a newsletter article or in person. I ll let the people that teach the class do that. But the techniques learned will change how you ride. And they must be practiced; as it goes against a few things that we all have been taught and have been practicing since we first started to ride a motorcycle. Going into the class, I had an idea as to the techniques that they would be teaching and honestly, I had my doubts but with an open mind and a willingness to learn, I signed up for both the morning and the afternoon classes. At the end of the day everything had changed. I now find myself thinking about corners differently and it has now started to affect my riding style. More importantly, I learned to be a better rider. Hopefully Red Rock Harley- Davidson will have Champ School back but they do offer classes during the fall/ winter in Arizona. For additional information Search YouTube.com for 100 points of grip Or if you want to geek out a little bit more, try reading Sport Riding Techniques by Nick Ienatsch. And if you really want to GEEK OUT and get technical, pick up Motorcycle Dynamics by Vittore Cossalter. By: Jason Jenkins Page!3
