Adjournment NEWS RELEASES HORRY COUNTY BOARD OF REGISTRATION & ELECTIONS TO CONDUCT SCANNER TEST Conway, South Carolina The Horry County Board of Registration and Elections will conduct a routine test of the 650 Scanner used to count absentee ballots on Election Day, January 2, 2018. The test will be held Friday, December 29, 2017, at 9 a.m. at the Horry County Registration & Elections Office located at 1515 4 th Avenue in Conway. HORRY COUNTY ANIMAL CARE REDUCES PET ADOPTION FEE FOR DECEMBER Conway, South Carolina The Horry County Animal Care Center (HCACC) wants all homeless pets in Horry County to be Home for the Holidays! To accomplish this, all dog and cat adoptions for the month of December are half price! Dogs are just $40 and include spaying/neutering, distemper and parvo vaccines, bordatella vaccines, rabies vaccines, heartworm testing (if over six months of age), deworming, flea prevention, microchipping and 30-days of free pet health insurance. Cats are just $25 and include spaying/neutering, feline viral rhinotracheitis vaccine, calicivirus vaccine, panleukopenia vaccine, rabies vaccine, leukemia testing (if over six months of age), deworming, flea prevention, microchipping and 30-days of free pet health insurance. HORRY COUNTY OFFICES TO CLOSE FOR CHRISTMAS Conway, South Carolina All Horry County offices, other than public safety operations, will be closed Friday, December 22, 2017, Monday, December 25, 2017, and Tuesday, December 26, 2017, in observance of Christmas. Regular courts may be in operation in the Horry County Government & Justice Center and all jurors, witnesses, etc. will be required to be present. In addition to the above dates: The Horry County Museum and the L.W. Paul Living History Farm will be closed Saturday, December 23, 2017. All branches of the Horry County Memorial Library will be closed Saturday, December 23, 2017. All branches of the Horry County Memorial Library will close at 5 p.m. Monday, December 18, 2017, through Thursday, December 21, 2017, and Wednesday, December 27, 2017, through Friday, December 29, 2017. Veteran s Affairs, 2830 Oak Street, Conway. The US Marine Corps Toys for Tots Program distributes new, unwrapped toys to needy children ages 0-12 years old in Horry County. Boxes will be at the above locations by Friday, December 1, 2017, and Horry County will collect toys until December 19, 2017. Please note that Horry County is NOT a distribution point and cannot take requests for toys. Requests to receive toys through the program should be directed to the local Toys for Tots website at http://murrells-inlet-sc.toysfortots.org/local-coordinator-sites/lco-sites/local-toy-request-singleform.aspx. ROAD CONSTRUCTION UPDATE US HIGHWAY 701 BRIDGE PROJECT The Yauhannah Boat Landing at the US Hwy 701 Bridge Replacement Project will be closed starting Monday, November 6, 2017, for demolition and reconstruction. It is anticipated that the work will not be completed until the end of January 2018, weather permitting. Boaters are encouraged to use the Port Harrelson Landing or visit the Horry County Government website at https://www.horrycounty.org/departments/parksandrecreation/boating.aspx for a listing of all County maintained boat landings.

GLENN S BAY WIDENING & INTERCHANGE PROJECT Traffic impacts weather permitting: There will be a shoulder closure on Glenn s Bay Road from US 17 Business to US 17 Bypass for curb/gutter work Monday, December 18, 2017, through Friday, December 22, 2017, between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. SC HWY 31 EXTENSION PROJECT Marine impacts, weather permitting: The US Coast Guard will establish a 200-yard safety zone on the Atlantic Intracoastal Waterway encompassing all waters directly under the SC Hwy 31 project, including any vessels and/or machinery associated with construction on the following dates/times which are subject to change (weather permitting): December 18, 2017, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. January 3, 2018, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. January 9, 2018, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Entry of vessels or persons into the safety zone is prohibited unless authorized by the Captain of the Port or a designee. Mariners are urged to plan accordingly to avoid unnecessary disruptions.
