The Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) has been an integral part of Saskatchewan s culture for over 75 years. The Saskatoon Airport was initially established as part of the RCAF training program during World War II and under the British Commonwealth Air Training Plan, twenty Service Flying Training Schools were established at various Saskatchewan locations in WWII to give a few examples. It is a well-known fact, Saskatchewan is rich in aviation history. As Patron of the airshow and former Lieutenant Governor of Saskatchewan, I am greatly pleased to announce that this summer, 15 Wing will be hosting a two-day airshow on July 6 and 7. This year s airshow will be all about celebrating and showcasing this affluent aviation history. The people of Saskatchewan have been the supporting force in enabling our great nation s air force to become what it is today, and the Saskatchewan Airshow will be an opportunity for the residents of the surrounding communities to connect with the aviation legacy of the province. The theme for the airshow this year focuses primarily on celebrating the unique community relationships between the Wing and the province which dates back to 1942. Moose Jaw has been (and continues to be) a key contributor to training all RCAF pilots as well as other air forces from around the world. This two day event will be a fun-filled spectacular air demonstration of Royal Canadian Air Force aircraft, civil aviation and United-States aircraft in the air and on the ground. I look forward to seeing the residents of the surrounding communities connect with their legacy. The support we receive from sponsorships will have a direct impact on the lives of our Veterans and serving Canadian Forces members and their families, as proceeds from the airshow will be directly invested in the military community. This will be a spectacular show, and I look forward to this memorable event. Saskatchewan Airshow Patron Former Lieutenant-Governor Vaughn Solomon Schofield I am very pleased to announce that 15 Wing Moose Jaw will be hosting the Saskatchewan Airshow July 6 and 7, 2019. The 2019 Saskatchewan Airshow will be a great opportunity for aviation enthusiasts of all ages, families and friends to reconnect with the Wing after many years, and experience an exciting summer attraction. The Wing and the Saskatchewan Airshow have a rich historical connection to the province of Saskatchewan and the prairie region which has attracted more than 25,000 visitors over a two day period in previous years. We expect as many as 30,000 visitors to take in the 2019 event which promises to be a fun-filled opportunity for all. The performer line-up will include our very own 431 Air Demonstration (AD) Squadron The Snowbirds, the CF188 Hornet Demonstration Team, the Sky Hawks, and performances by a number of exciting aerobatic teams. In addition to a great performer line-up, there will be an impressive array of static displays from the RCAF, USAF, and others from around the world, as well as outstanding Army and Navy displays that will sure to intrigue everyone s interest. The Saskatchewan Airshow will offer a unique variety of food and beverage vendors, a beer garden, chalets for the Wing Commander s VIP guests and sponsors, as well as an opportunity for photo enthusiasts and the corporate/business community to purchase corporate tickets. Families and kids of all ages will also have a kid s zone that promises to provide loads of fun, and there will be a museum display on site to capture the spirit of the Wing and more importantly the RCAF s connection to Saskatchewan and its communities. The generous support received from our sponsors will allow the Saskatchewan Airshow committee to hire world renowned performers and support our volunteers and providers in an effort to host a safe and memorable event. All proceeds from the event will be reinvested into the military community through subsidized programming and events for the members and families of the 15 Wing Moose Jaw community.
