Well as we all know winter has come upon us and Mother Nature has certainly let us know it s here. Although l have not caught up with many of you over the last few months it is great see that some have made the most out of the great summer and autumn by doing day rides and putting it up on the facebook pages. What did we ever do before the internet. Our last club meet was in March but unfortunately l was unable to attend, but did hear that it was a great weekend and one to remember for the special presentation to Phil of his Life Membership. Even though l am a reasonable new member knowing Phil for the last 45/50 years knowing the passion and effort he puts into anything he does l am sure he deserves that honour. As we enter June we have the Albury rally approaching, it will be a good chance to try out any new thermals or wet riding gear. Hopefully there enough tough skin riders out there to come along and make this another great rally. Jacqui & Alan has put in the ground work, set the weekend agenda and l am sure all set to lead through a great time. Please remember if anyone has a ride or rally on and would like to share it for others to join please post it. I and 3 others are riding in July in the ICICLE RIDE which was posted by Chris Melba, without that we would not have known about it. Also if you want to organize a day, weekend or longer or even one of rallies put it together or ask someone for advise on how to do it and put on the facebook or website. Finally I am asking on behalf of the club for any ideas to expand and increase the membership. As l look around the ages of our group are starting to creep up and because we ride a more matured person bike the pool of riders are limited, but saying this there are a great number of Wings out there and it would be good to attract some of these our way. So l ask you to have a think and bring any ideas to the rally. That s about all for my first report so safe riding and see you at Albury Pete President s Message Winter Edition 2017 1 Continued page 4..

Secretary s Message Hello again fellow Wingers. I hope that you are all keeping well and trying to keep warm as winter sets in. Since my last report, the insurance for the Club Insurance has been received, it was due in December and we received it at the end of May. Well at least we are covered as required by law. The committee has been sent a draft copy of the club constitution which we will review and bring to the next AGM to be voted on. The current copy is very generic and needed some twicking to make it worthwhile having. I do hope as many of you can make it to the Queen s Birthday rally. Apart from the cold, you should enjoy yourself as there are some enjoyable events planned for those attending. As this is the first time that Jacqui and I have organised a rally, it soon became apparent that we needed to know who was attending. We relied on the information from the club website but on checking with the venue, the numbers were different. This information was required as when booking a venue for a meal, we needed to know numbers. Can I ask all members, and I am aware that we have only 2 without access to the internet, to ensure that they advise on the club website if they are attending or not. I will keep harping on this point as it makes the person organising the rally just that little bit easier. Looking forward to meeting you at the next rally. Until next time, Ride Safely Whitey Hot Diggety Dog!! Two Irish nuns have just arrived in USA by boat, and one says to the other, "I hear that the people in this country actually eat dogs." "Odd," her companion replies, "but if we shall live in America, we might as well do as the Americans do." As they sit, they hear a push cart vendor yelling, "Hot Dogs, get your dogs here," and they both walk towards the hot dog cart. "Two dogs, please!," says one. The vendor is very pleased to oblige, wraps both hot dogs in foil and hands them over. Excited, the nuns hurry to a bench and begin to unwrap their dogs.' The mother superior is first to open hers. She begins to blush, and then, after staring at it for a moment, leans to the other nun and in a soft brogue whispers: "What part did you get?" 2

Treasurers Report As is to be expected our bank balance has had an income boost with membership renewals rolling in. Much of the expenses have been offset by club shop sales and rally incomes such as fines. Other expenses include our NSW Motorcycling Ltd Affiliation, insurances etc. Bank activity - 1 March 31 May 2017 Renewals $ 590.00 Income $ 588.15 Expense $ 930.37 Balance $ 4668.84 Membership Report Our current financial membership is 44 with 9 members outstanding on their renewals. I will write to them after our next rally to seeking their intention to renew or not. We have two new members join us, Tony & Brigitte O Brien from Alice Springs NT. Welcome to your club. I must apologize to Tony & Brigitte as they are yet to receive their welcome pack. There was an inordinate delay with the badges due to the suppliers not having the badge type we use in stock. I have the badges now and they will be In the mail shortly. Membership is dropping a little and I hope the 9 membership yet to pay continue with our club. Please keep an eye out for new members and carry a couple of copies of the membership form with you so you have them to pass on. Webmaster Report I ve been time poor to spend a lot of time on the website, since February in fact. You ll notice since then there has not been the monthly cover-page change. I will be endeavoring to get a new update going soon. As I request in all my reports, it would be great to receive articles and photos that I can create into pages for our website. The more it changes the more return visits we get. It shows an active club and promotes membership. Shane 3

Forthcoming Events Queens Birthday weekend 9-12 June Alan and Jacqui White have advised that this rally will be held in the Albury/Wodonga area. The accommodation will be at: BIG4 Albury Tourist Park, 372 Wagga Rd, Lavington, NSW. 2641 Ph: 02 6040 2999 Free call 1800 624 520 stay@alburytouristpark.com.au www.alburytouristpark.com.au The itinerary for this rally is posted on our website. Corowa Rally, August. At this stage there has only been two people express interest in this rally. I m not sure whether this is due to the close proximity of the Queens Birthday rally in Albury, which actually has a ride to Corowa on the itinerary, or just that people have other things on. I have asked the Secretary to list this for discussion at the meeting in Albury with a view to, (a) trying to book a different venue, or, (b) cancelling the rally. Members not attending the Albury rally will be advised of the outcome as soon as possible. October rally. Still awaiting details from Ben Probin re the rally in October. I think he is looking at somewhere up near Wagga Wagga, possibly Mudgee, but will let you know. 4

Welcome to New Members The following new members have recently joined our Club and we extend a warm Goldwing welcome to you all. Remember, there are no strangers in our Club, only friends we haven t met yet. Hoping to see you at one of our rallies in the near future. Brigitte & Tony O Brien Alice Springs NT NURSING HOME POLICE Ethel was a bit of a demon in her wheelchair and loved to charge around the nursing home, taking corners on one wheel, and getting up to maximum speed on the long corridors. Because the poor woman was one sandwich short of a picnic, the other residents tolerated her, and some males actually joined in. One day, Ethel was speeding up one corridor when a door opened and Kooky Clarence stepped out with his arm outstretched. "STOP!" he shouted in a firm voice. "Have you got a license for that thing?" Ethel fished around in her handbag and pulled out a Kit Kat wrapper, and held it up to him. "OK" he said, and away Ethel sped down the hall. As she took the corner near the TV lounge on one wheel, Weird Harold popped out in front of her and shouted "STOP! Have you got proof of insurance? Ethel dug into her handbag, pulled out a drink coaster, and held it up to him. Harold nodded and said, "Carry on, ma'am. As Ethel neared the final corridor before the front door, Crazy Craig stepped out in front of her, stark naked, with a very sizeable erection.. "Oh, good grief," cried Ethel, "not the Breathalyser again!" 6

Rye Bread *Two old guys, one 80 and one 87, were sitting on their usual park bench one morning.* *The 87 year old had just finished his morning jog and wasn't even short of breath. The 80 year old was amazed at his friend's stamina and asked him what he did to have so much energy.* *The 87 year old said, "Well, I eat rye bread every day. It keeps your energy level high and you'll have great stamina with the ladies."* *So, on the way home the 80 year old stops at the bakery. As he was looking around, the lady asked if he needed any help. He said "Do you have any Rye bread?"* *She said, "Yes, there's a whole shelf of it. Would you like some?" He said, "I want 5 loaves."* *She said, "My goodness, 5 loaves... By the time you get to the 3rd loaf, it'll be hard" * *He replied, "I can't believe it, everybody knows about this shit but me."*!!! 8
