Columbia Lake Shoreline Clean Up a Success! What do a figure skate, styrofoam take out container, metal tape measure, sweatpants, bucket, cigarette butts and railway ties have in common? These items were all found on the shores of Columbia Lake! On Sunday May 27th, thirteen volunteers, from six lakeside communities (Columere, Bella Vista, Timber Springs, Spirits Reach, Columbia Ridge Estates and Canal Flats) met at Coy's golf course where we were treated to muffins and coffee - thanks Coy's! We then split into groups and walked the eastern shore of Columbia Lake picking up garbage as we went. You can email us at: columbialakess@shaw.ca Thank you to the wonderful volunteers who participated. You helped keep our lake clean and beautiful! We'll be out again in the next few weeks to pick up some of the bigger items that required more muscles. Let us know if you'd like to help. 12
