The airport experienced positive passenger growth for the 33rd consecutive month with respect to the year over year monthly increases. During the first two months of 2018, RNO served 608,851 passengers, an increase of 6.7% when compared to the same period last year. In February 2018, RNO was served by nine airlines providing 1,546 departures to 20 nonstop destinations (23 nonstop destinations if seasonal new announced flights are included). At RNO, total seat capacity increased 6.6% and flights increased 5.0% when compared to February 2017. RNO, handled 11,417,480 pounds of air cargo in February 2018, a decrease of 5.0% when compared to February 2017. During the first two months of 2018, RNO handled 23,213,255 pounds of air cargo, a decrease of 6.3% when compared to the same period last year. On April 10, 2018, Frontier Airlines began nonstop flights between Reno and Austin, Texas. The new flight will operate twice week, Tuesday and Friday, on a 180seat Airbus 320 aircraft. On April 9, 2018, Frontier increased the number of flights between Reno and Denver from three times week to four times a week. The airline will offer this flight on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday

In February 2018, Allegiant Air reported a passenger increase of 12.7%, United Airlines was up 10.4%, JetBlue grew 9.7%, Delta was up 6.6% and American Airlines reported an increase of 5.5% versus February 2017. Alaska Airlines passenger traffic was down 20.3% and Volaris reported a decrease of 15.9% during the same period. FedEx was down 7.3% and UPS reported a decrease of 5.5% during the same period.

Recent and Upcoming Schedule Changes Alaska Airlines On March 11, 2018, Alaska Airlines increased the number of nonstop flights between Reno and Portland from twice a day to three times a day. The airline reduced the number of flights on this route temporarily during the first quarter of 2018. American Airlines American Airlines temporarily suspended the nonstop semiseasonal flights between Reno and Chicago O Hare International Airport from April 3, 2018, through May 3, 2018. American Airlines increased the number of daily flights between Reno and Phoenix from three to four flights a day from February 15, 2018, through May 3, 2018. On May 4, the airline will add another daily flight on this route. American Airlines will increase the number of daily flights between Reno and Los Angeles from four to five flights a day from April 4, 2018, through June 6, 2018. Starting May, 5, 2018, American Airlines will increase the number of daily flights between Reno and Dallas from twice a day to three times a day. Delta Air Lines Delta Air Lines nonstop seasonal flight between Reno and Atlanta was temporarily suspended on April 2, 2018. This flight is expected to return during the 2018/2019 ski season. JetBlue Airways The nonstop flight between Reno and New York City operates five days a week, Thursday through Monday. United Airlines United Airlines nonstop seasonal flight between Reno and Houston was temporarily suspended on April 9, 2018. This flight will return on June 30, 2018, as a weekend service United Airlines nonstop seasonal flight between Reno and Chicago O Hare was temporarily suspended on April 1, 2018. This flight will return on June 7, 2018. On April 9, 2018, United Airlines increased the number of daily flights between Reno and Los Angeles from one flight a day to twice a day. Southwest Airlines On April 9, 2018, Southwest Airlines increased the number of daily flights between Reno and Las Vegas from nine flights a day to 10 flights a day. On March 8, 2018, Southwest Airlines reduced the number of daily flights between Reno and San Jose from twice a day to once a day. Starting March 8, 2018, Southwest Airlines increased the number of daily flights between Reno and Denver from one flight a day to twice a day. Southwest Airlines nonstop seasonal flight between Reno and Dallas Love Field was temporarily suspended on April 7, 2018. This flight will return on June 9, 2018. Volaris The nonstop flight between Reno and Guadalajara, Mexico operates on Mondays and Fridays.
