23 October 2018 Arrival In Cape Town Garden Route Tour 23 October 2018 2 November 2018 Detailed Itinerary Arrive in Cape Town By whichever means, Airplane, Car, Bus, Train We will meet and greet you at the airport, or whichever place of arrival, and then escort you to your hotel in Sea Point, Cape Town. In the afternoon, we will collect you at the hotel and take you to the showroom to collect your motorcycle, sign all the required papers, and take part in the briefing with regards to the tour. Thereafter, go and enjoy the luxurious Hotel, and take time to walk on the famous Promenade, taking in the beautiful views, and smells, of the Atlantic Ocean.
Enjoy scrumptious meals and drink some of the famous South African wines, whilst enjoying the warm summer weather. Relax and get a rejuvenating night s sleep. 24 October 2018 Day 1 383Klm After a delicious breakfast, we will all meet up for the first day out on the bikes. We start off cautiously and take an easy first 100Klm ride on a coastal tar road. We will travel up the West Coast to Langebaan. Here we will enjoy a lunch on the waters edge of the Langebaan lagoon. After Lunch we will head off inland towards the picturesque town of Tulbagh. On route we will travel on the first gravel roads of the trip. We will drive through the old village of Riebeek Kasteel and skirt past Gouda.
The roads will take us through picturesque landscape, and lead us to our overnight destination, Tulbagh. 25 October 2018 DAY 2-383Km We leave Tulbagh, and take some back roads into the Small Karoo. Watch as the scenery changes to the arid and beautiful Small Karoo. Arrive at the Aquila Game Reserve, just in time for a delicious lunch. We will take a SAFARI GAME DRIVE through the reserve and see the big 5! Enjoy sun downers at the waters edge and enjoy a fabulous dinner before retiring to the luxury rooms!
In the morning, for the early risers, there will be an opportunity to take a morning game drive, prior to breakfast. 26 October 2018 DAY 3-289Km After breakfast at Aquila we head off in the direction of Oudtshoorn. We will ride some beautifully scenic roads, tar and gravel on route. You wont forget your stop at Ronnies Sex Shop! From Ronnies we head off to Ladismith, direction Oudshoorn where we will stop for a lunch, and visit an ostrich farm. Then it is off towards the famous town of Oudtshoorn. There we will check in at the Pictures Guest Gouse for a night of luxury
27 October 2018 DAY 4-248Km With a fresh mornings start, we will head off to the infamous Swartberg Pass. Take your time to take in the magnificent views. From Swartberg Pass we travel to Prince Alfred. On to Klaarstroom, and further down the Pass to De Rust. Finally we glide through Barandas on to Willowmore to the Royal Hotel. 28 October 2018 DAY 5-269Km We leave Willowmore for the Joubertinia, a small Karroo Village, driving between the feet of two long mountain ranges. Road surfaces vary from tar to gravel continuously. Passing Kareedouw, we will head West towards the famous Natures Valley along R62. There is an opportunity for the adventurous to jump the highest bridge bungee jump in the world at Stormriver Bridge.
From there we hit the Garden Route and travel to the Knysna Waterfront, where we settle down, and take it easy till the next days rest day. 29 October 2018 DAY 6 - REST DAY Time to take a break. Day 6 is a rest day. One can just relax at the pool, and enjoy the Knysna Waterfront, or one can take day trips out to the vast amount of things one can do in this part of the World. One can go walk with elephants or Cheetah s.
Go to the stunning beaches, see the old Yellow Wood forests. Take a trip out on a yacht into the ocean for a sundowner. There is just so much one can do! 30 October 2018 DAY 7-384Km After an early start, we take a an early ride out of Knysna. We travel gravel roads through Rheenendal and Sedgefield. Then skirt past George, down the beautiful Seven Passes road. We then head out to Mossel Bay, where after we go South towards Gouritsmond. We pass through Stilbaai, and then head off back inland to Swellendam for a night of luxury.
31 October 2018 DAY 8-306Km Day 8 takes us on an adventure to Hermanus. Scenic and fun Gravel roads to the Malgas Pont, where you will experience a truly African River crossing on a float. Then off to Bredasdorp, Napier, Stanford and eventually the whale Capital of the World, Hermanus.
I November 2018 DAY 9-409Km Van Der Stell Pass, Franschoek Pass and Bains Kloof Pass are just three of the Epic passes you will travel on Day 9! Visit the historic town of Franschoek, Paarl and Wellington, on route to the majestic wine village of Stellenbosch.
From Stellenbosch, we ride through to Muizenberg, and then follow the stunning Atlantic Ocean coastline. We stop to see a private Vintage Moto Cross Bike collection, a highlight for the Motorcycle enthusiast. We then pass the Penguin colony, through to Chapmans Peak, and through Hout Bay, Bantry Bay and Camps Bay! A fun filled exiting finish to the tour!! You will retire your motorcycle at our showroom, and then we will take you to your Sea side Luxury Hotel. Use the rest of the evening to go and explore the famous V&A Waterfront, Sea Point, or Green Point. Get some welldeserved rest whilst you reminisce over the days of the tour! 2 November 2018 Leisure and Departure Day Wake up and take a leisurely walk down the promenade. Enjoy some shopping and dining at the V& A Waterfront, and then get ready at6 your leisure for your departure. We will collect you and drive you to the point of your departure, and ensure that leave Cape Town, with great memories, and a rejuvenated spirit!
TOUR COSTS The tour costs start at EU3,900-00 on a BMW 700 GS, and at most cost EU4,320-00 on a BMW 1200 GS ADV. The Tour Costs INCLUDE the following: Full rental of the motorcycle for the 10 days of riding. ( New BMW Motorcycles not older than 2 years) 12 Nights Accommodation in 4 to 5 Star establishments Breakfast, lunch and Dinner, including soft drinks, for 10 Days of riding. Airport transfers to Hotel on arrival, and return to airport from Hotel on departure. Motorcycle Insurance. (Excess will be for the riders account, should any damage occur) Back up vehicle with spare motorcycle, should anyone experience any problems with their rental bike. Baggage can be transported in back up vehicle, so need for a heavy load on the motorcycle. Big 5 Game Viewing and safari. Your booking will be confirmed on receipt of a 50% deposit. This deposit is not refundable. The balance of 50% must be paid prior to 21 October 2018. We will gladly assist you with any special requests you may have, and will advise and assist, should you want to extend your stay outside the tour dates. Your Guide, Marcel Matusik, is a highly skilled motorcycle rider, and has won numerous Enduro Racing events during his racing career. He is also a CAMEL TROPHY participant and represented South Africa internationally for CAMEL TROPHY. Marcel, is Swiss born and South African raised, and thus can communicate in Swiss German, as well as many South African languages. Marcel, has travelled extensively through Africa, and is well acquainted with African culture and how Africa functions.
