September 2017 Omaha, Nebraska President's Message Hello Model A ers, Well, Summer is at an end and Fall is starting. We have had an active summer with the Regional, Skills, Grills& Grilles Show, Wheels at the Fort Show, Tours, Eat Outs, Picnics and Breakfasts. And I must tell you that you MAY THINK that things will slow down, but, there is more to come. We have more tours and activities to participate in, and if not with our club, with other clubs asking us to participate in their activities. It is only two months away until the Bus Tour to Michigan, and we have a Cemetery Tour on October 22 nd. The leaves will be changing to a beautiful color landscape. Make sure you keep track of your mileage for this year so we can see if we have made or surpassed last year s goal. We have quite a few members who have been putting more time and effort into getting their As up and running. Which is really tough with a full time job. So if you need help, speak up, these club members are more than willing to assist. The Board is looking at ALL of the ideas submitted for expenditure. I would like to thank everyone who submitted these ideas as they are very helpful and we are glad to hear from the general membership. And please keep them coming. Also ideas for tours, meetings and activities are needed to keep interest and liven things up. Elections are coming up in November for the Vice President, Secretary and 2 Board members. Some of you folks may have already gotten a phone call from Jim Musel, Bob McKinney or Don Graves. So give some thought to possibly being on the board. The White Elephant Sale is coming up in October. So don t forget to consider the Club when you are cleaning out your garages and closets! Stay Calm & Carry On, Esther ATTENTION: By-laws Revision A group has been working on an updating of the club by-laws and has a draft ready to share with the membership. This draft will be discussed at the September meeting and voted on at the October meeting. Members who receive their newsletter by e-mail will receive a copy of the draft as an attachment. Those who receive their newsletter on paper may request that a copy be brought to the September meeting. Please contact Janet Graves (janet@omahaneb.org/ 402-453-7166). The board is working on an inventory of all club property. If you have any property belonging to the club, please send a description and photo (if possible) to Dave and Esther Miller (daemiller@cox.net). We will also be doing an inventory of the items in the club trailer on Sept. 23, staring t 10AM. If you wish to assist, please let Esther know. We will be having an appreciation event on September 24 for anyone who helped with the Regional Meet. This will include dinner at Pizza Ranch 3010 South 84 th St (Frederick Square Shopping Center) at 5PM. If you helped in any way with the Regional, please plan to attend, but P-L-E-A-S-E sign up at the September meeting or contact Esther Miller at daemiller@cox.net or 402-593-2009. At the Pizza Ranch, don t pay tell the cashier that you are with the Meadowlark Car Club. 1
