Dubai Duty Free Irish Open 2017 Getting There The 2017 Dubai Duty Free Irish Open promises to be an incredible occasion with tens of thousands expected to attend. Please plan your journey in advance, allowing for extra time as increased traffic is inevitable. Translink is offering a range of hassle-free, good value options for visitors travelling to the event full details at www.translink.co.uk/irishopen2017/ Bus and Coach Special Coach Services directly to the Dubai Duty Free Irish Open from Belfast and other cities and towns across NI will operate from 5-9 July - details on the Translink website. The local bus service (140) between Coleraine, Portrush and Portstewart will operate at a 20 min frequency and at a 10 min frequency during mid-morning/early evening. Train Rail services will operate an hourly timetable to and from Coleraine, from Derry~Londonderry and Belfast. Train capacity will be enhanced from 5-9 July and some additional early morning and late night services will also operate. Free shuttle bus services will connect with the arrival and departure of each train to transport you directly between Coleraine Bus & Train station and the event. Car If travelling by car, you will be directed to Park & Ride facilities. All drivers should follow the event signage and not Sat Nav s. The bus service from the Park & Ride sites will operate at a 10min frequency. Park & Ride A FREE Park & Ride system will operate during the event. As you approach the area, follow the directions displayed on the event signage. Shuttle services will commence at 06.30am on Tuesday and continue through to the end of the tournament on Sunday evening. Park & Ride buses will be in operation until at least 9pm every evening and will depart every 10 minutes. There will be provision for Park & Ride until the close of the Portstewart Festival Programme. If your chosen accommodation is located within an area subject to permit access then the proprietor will provide you with a permit to gain access to that area. What is the tournament schedule? Will there be a re-entry system in place? Yes, spectators will be able to leave and re-enter the grounds during the event, allowing them to visit Portstewart town centre. Volunteers/Marshalls will be on hand throughout the town to assist with general queries. Will there be support from volunteers? Yes, look out for the volunteers at Coleraine bus and train station, Park & Rides, pick up and drop off points and Permits will be distributed nearer the time to those residents in the identified area. Is there an available drop off/pick up area close to the course? Yes, Burnside Presbyterian Church, Mill Road, Portstewart will be the designated area for pick up/drop off close to the course. Will the Dubai Duty Free Irish Open be televised? Sky Sports will televise the whole tournament, with BBC and RTE broadcasting the highlights. Is there an on-course programme of entertainment? *Yes, an Opening and Closing Ceremony will take place in the Championship Village. Local and international legends Two Door Cinema Club will headline the Opening Ceremony on 5th July. This concert will end at 21:00. The closing ceremony on 9 July will end at 20:00 and the headline act will be announced shortly.
