Friday 10th of May Arrival at the Lyon Saint-Exupery Airport, necessarily before noon Quick lunch at the airport 01:00 pm : transfert in mini bus Discovery of the Chaine des Puys, volcanoes range The volcanoes of Auvergne are a unique landscape in France, The most famous is the puy de Dôme, the highest of more than 80 volcanoes waiting to be discovered in the Chaîne des Puys mountain range, a UNESCO world heritage natural site, since 2018! The diversity of the environment in Auvergne means that there are also crater lakes, forests and valleys to explore. With more than 3 900 km of hikking paths in the puy-de-dome, the lovers of hikking will be served. Puy de la Vache or an other volcanoe Diner / overnight stay in Volcalodges
Saturday 11 May Presentation and ascent of the Puy de Dôme summit via the Panoramique des Dômes rack railway, return on foot with a guide. Pearl of the Chaîne des Puys in central France, this volcano is a huge playground. The Panoramique des Dômes electric rack railway takes you on a journey to the top of the Chaîne des Puys, and a landscape with constantly-changing colours and lights. Reaching an altitude of 1,465 metres, the Puy de Dôme is not the highest peak in Auvergne, but it is the most iconic, and certainly the most famous. The puy de dôme belongs to the Chaine des Puys which is classified on the UNESCO World heritage, since July 2018.
