GREENE COUNTY YMCA Our facility includes: racquetball curts, heated indr pl, weight and wellness center, climbing wall, grup exercise rm, large all-purpse rm, adult duble gymnasium, yuth gymnasium, game rm, yuth center and adult lcker rms with steam and sauna. One adjacent Y area is the Terry Bellamy Sccer Park lcated n Crum Street. DAYS AND MONTHS The fllwing is a list f dates fr this summer s Greene Cunty YMCA Summer Day Camp: May 22-26 May 30-June 2 (n camp n May 29 th in bservance f Memrial Day) June 5-9 June 12-16 June 19-23 June 26-30 July 3-7 (n camp n July 4 th in bservance f Independence Day) July 10-14 July 17-21 July 24-28 July 31- Aug 3 (n camp Aug. 4 th, due t schl starting) HOURS Hurs are frm 6:30 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. Campers must be picked up by 6:00 p.m. daily. There will be a late fee charged fr pick-ups after 6:00 p.m. 1

Campers will nt be assured a slt in Adventure Camp r Sprts Camp until all f this is cmpleted. All YMCA Day Camp and Sprts Camp fees are due in advance by the Friday befre the week yur child will be attending. All fees fr field trips, transprtatin and special activities are included in the weekly cst f YMCA Summer Day Camp. Day Camp weekly fees this summer are as fllws: YMCA Day Camp YMCA Sprts Camp Weekly Fees Greene Cunty YMCA Members: $75.00 Nn-Members: $105.00 Sibling Discunt: $10.00 (same week f camp) Weekly Fees (nn-day Camp Attendees) Greene Cunty YMCA Members: $75.00 Nn-Members: $105.00 Sibling Discunt: $10.00 (same week f camp) Weekly Fees (Day Camp Participants): $20.00 (n sibling discunt) in additin t regular Day Camp Weekly Fee Accunting Plicies and Prcedures The first week s fee is due at the time f registratin. T avid Late Fees, all Day Camp fees are due in advance by the Friday befre the week yur child will be attending the prgram. If yu experience a hardship meeting the payment schedule, please cntact the Yuth Develpment Directr, Niclle Mre in rder t wrk ut a shrt term plan until yu can get back n schedule. If fees are habitually nt paid in advance the Y reserves the right t remve yur child frm the Day Camp rster until the balance is paid-in-full. Pick-up after 6:00 p.m. results in fees being assessed. The Y charges $40.00 per hur in 15-minute increments fr late pick-up per family. The first 15 minutes is $10.00 and the fees increase each additinal 15-minute perid. In the event yur child will nt be attending a week f camp fr which he r she is enrlled yu must ntify the Y by 5:00 p.m. n the Wednesday befre the upcming Mnday. By ding this, the Y will be able t permit a child frm the waiting list t attend day camp as well as fr the bvius administrative purpses. If yur child is signed up fr Day Camp and wishes t participate in a Sprts Camp, an additinal $20.00 (per child) will be added t yur child s weekly fee. This depsit is nn-refundable and applies t each week f Sprts Camp yur child will be attending. Fees will nt be prrated fr illness, suspensin, hlidays, r inclement weather. A camper must be either a Greene Cunty YMCA Member r included n his / her family s Husehld Membership t receive the Member Rate. Tax Infrmatin Please keep all f yur receipts fr Incme Tax infrmatin. Y Membership Benefit Hlding a YMCA Membership will prvide a reductin f prgram fees besides all the added benefits f being a Y Member! Please inquire at the YMCA Member-Service Desk fr mre infrmatin. Schlarship Infrmatin Financial assistance fr Day Camp and Sprts Camp is available t all wh qualify. Applicatins fr assistance may be picked up at the Member Service Desk r printed frm the website. N child will be granted a full schlarship fr mre than ne week. Please allw 2-3 weeks fr assistance frms t be prcessed. STAFF The Y and its staff maintain the highest standards fr the safety and well-being f the campers. Our staff is well-trained and well-prepared t meet yur child s daily needs as well as serve as psitive rle mdels. We maintain an apprximate staff-t-camper rati f ne staff persn t every ten campers. Our Y Day Camp staff underges an in-service training which includes an Emplyee Cde f Cnduct. All staff becmes certified in First-Aid, CPR, AED and Oxygen Administratin. Training is als cnducted in Bldbrne Pathgens and yuth prtectin including understanding, identifying, preventing, respnding & reprting Child Abuse. ACTIVITIES The YMCA Adventure Camp fcuses n physical activities and grup interactin in a safe envirnment. Daily activities include, but are nt limited t: swimming, grup games, sprts and devtins. Special activities may include: arts & crafts, rck climbing, theme days, wellness & special trips. All camp activities are ageapprpriate. The campers are placed int their respective age grups and taken thrugh activities that are geared fr their develpment level. At certain pints during the day, campers are brught tgether fr grup games, sngs and/r special events. SWIMMING Campers will need apprpriate swimwear, a twel, and gggles. Inner tubes r ther inflatable devices are allwed in the pl. All campers will be swim tested t determine their swimming ability. Day Camp Cunselrs will be available t supervise children in the pl area. Certified lifeguards are always n duty during swim times. FIELD TRIPS We have planned different trips/events thrughut the summer t enhance yur child s camp experience. Waivers fr certain activities will be required at the beginning f each week. Please see Field Trip list. 2

DAILY CAMPER NEEDS Healthy Lunch (NO Micrwave Meals!) Twel Cmfrtable Play Clthes Swimsuit All necessary persnal items that cme t camp shuld be clearly labeled with the camper s name. Items that are lst will be placed in a Fund area. Due t ur limited strage space, if items are nt claimed by the end f the camp sessin r whenever the Fund Bx fills up, thse items will be dnated. The Greene Cunty YMCA is nt respnsible fr lst, stlen, r misplaced items. TRANSPORTATION We ask that yu speak with yur child regarding prper safety guidelines. All campers must stay seated with their seat belts fastened until the vehicle is parked. Safety is ur primary gal when transprting campers. The Greene Cunty YMCA reserves the right t suspend r dismiss a camper if safety plicies are nt fllwed. Van/Bus Rules and Regulatins While campers are being transprted, they are under the direct supervisin f the driver and must bey him r her. The bus / van driver and staff have the authrity t assign seats t students fr safety r disciplinary reasns. Failure t fllw the driver s rules at any time will be cnsidered an act f disbedience and will result in disciplinary actin. DRESS CODE All campers must wear athletic shes, pants r shrts and shirts. All clthing apparel must be apprpriate fr camp activities. Clthing which is revealing r that cntains graphics r wrding that is vulgar, abusive, r therwise inapprpriate will nt be allwed. LUNCH AND SNACKS Campers shuld bring their wn lunch with a drink (NO SODA). Campers shuld NOT be sent t camp with micrwave meals. If ht sup, macarni and cheese, ndles, etc. are part f yur child s lunch menu, they shuld be prepared at hme and sent in a therms. If micrwave meals are sent they will nt be heated and will be sent hme with the camper at sign-ut. A camper will be prvided a snack in this circumstance. Snacks will be prvided daily t each camper by YMCA Day Camp Staff. ARRIVAL, DEPARTURE AND RELEASE PROCEDURES Each mrning parents must physically walk in and sign their child in with Y Day Camp Staff at the sign-in/sign-ut area lcated in the Yuth Center. Sign-In fr camp begins as early as 6:30 a.m. each mrning and Camp Rll Call is at 8:30 a.m. each mrning and any camper arriving after rll call will be signed in and taken t his r her cunselr. Campers shuld be picked up by 6:00 p.m. daily. Yur camper will nly be released t the persns listed n the Emergency r Authrized Pick-Up sectin f the Enrllment Frm. Persns picking up a camper must physically walk in and sign their children ut with a Y staff persn at the sign-in/sign-ut table each day. Campers will nt be released t nn-adults. Y Day Camp Staff are nt allwed t sign in /ut children frm the prgram. Pht identificatin will be required if we d nt knw r recgnize the persn picking up yur camper. This will nt be required nce we are familiar with thse picking up yur children. If yur child is ging t be picked up by smene nt n the authrized pick-up list, yu must send a nte including the date and the individual s name that has permissin t pick up yur child. The Y has an bligatin t prtect campers as they make the transitin between hme and camp each day. A sign-in/sign-ut prcedure in which all campers parents/guardians participate each day is a gd safety measure. It gives the camp staff the knwledge f the exact time that their respnsibility begins and ends, a recrd f when each child has arrived and departed, and cntact with parents / guardians. In any case cncerning a custdy clause r dispute, curt dcuments must be prvided. Y Day Campers will nt be allwed t leave the Y fr lunch r fr any ther purpse under any circumstance unless first signed ut by a parent r guardian. DISCIPLINE AND GUIDANCE PROCEDURES Self-management skills and psitive scial interactins amng campers and adults are encuraged and maximize everyne s enjyment f camp. Prgrams use psitive guidance methds including reminders, distractin, lgical cnsequences and redirectin. Camper safety is the mst imprtant cncern f the prgrams; therefre, campers whse behavir is dangerus r repeatedly disruptive must be immediately picked up frm the prgram by smene designated thrugh the departure and release prcedures. Repeatedly disruptive r dangerus behavir will be discussed with the camper s parent and will result in lss f privileges r activities, suspensin, r terminatin frm the prgram. Camper Cnduct Plicies As in any activity, inapprpriate behavir f a few campers can have a dramatic impact n the experience f the entire grup. Therefre, the fllwing cnduct plicies apply directly t each individual camper and will be used in determining the camper s eligibility t cntinue as a participant in the camp prgram. Infractins will be dcumented. Please make certain that bth yu and yur child are cmpletely familiar with these cnduct plicies. A camper may be suspended r released frm camp, withut refund, fr the fllwing behavir while participating in the prgram r while being transprted: Bullying either verbally, physically, r cyber. Misuse f Y Cmputers. Leaving the Y Camp Site withut permissin r ging int unauthrized areas. Using ful r ffensive language, fighting, being rude r discurteus t staff and ther campers. Defacing YMCA prperty, fields, facilities, r any prperty visited. Engaging in fighting r intentinally injuring anther camper. Bringing r using any illegal substances and/r weapns. 3

Public displays f affectin. Inapprpriate sexual behavir. Stealing r defacing anther camper s prperty. Refusing t remain with the grup while at camp and during utings. Refusing t fllw check-in r check-ut prcedures. Refusing t fllw basic rules f safety. Refusing t participate in daily camp activities. Nt remaining seated while being transprted. Nt keeping their seat belt fastened while being transprted. Having any bdy part ut f the windw, defacing the vehicle, and/r being rude and discurteus t the driver r t thers n the rad while being transprted. Disciplinary Prcedure 1 st Incident: Re-directin / Time-Out / Verbal Warning / Staff Cunseling (depending n severity f incident) 2 nd Incident: Parent ntified by phne, in persn at Sign-Out, and / r in writing. 3 rd Incident: Disciplinary write-up Final Incident: The actin taken at this pint is at the discretin f the Day Camp Directr after apprpriate cnsultatin with the parent. The range f discipline culd be a ne-day suspensin t remval frm the prgram. HEALTH / SAFETY GUIDELINES, ILLNESS AND EXCLUSION AND MEDICATION POLICY Day Camp Staff may nt administer medicatins prescriptin r therwise. Campers with clds r illness will nt be admitted. Please d nt put us in the psitin f refusing yur child. Campers with head lice will nt be allwed t attend camp. Campers fund with head lice (nits / eggs r bugs) will be asked t leave the prgram and be treated. Once treated and the head lice has been eradicated, the child may return t camp. If a camper is sent hme a secnd time the camper will nt be readmitted back t ur prgram until we have a written cnfirmatin frm a dctr, nurse, r nurse practitiner that yur child has been treated and n lnger has head lice. Shuld a camper be sent hme a third time, yu will be asked t withdraw yur child frm Day Camp. Please let us knw immediately if yur child has a cmmunicable illness r infectin. This will allw us t ntify the parents f children attending ur prgram. Campers with cmmunicable cnditins may nt return t camp withut a nte frm their physician. Anyne wrking with children is required by law t reprt any suspected child abuse. This includes physical, sexual, emtinal, mental and neglect. Parents will be cntacted immediately when their child displays signs f illness. It is better t be vercautius than t risk expsing the rest f the children and staff. CHILD INJURY If a child is injured, an Accident Reprt will be cmpleted the same day with a cpy given t the parent and the riginal kept n file by the Day Camp Directr. Minr Injuries: Injuries that require n mre than washing, Band-Aid and ice pack. Majr Injuries: Injuries that require mre than washing, Band-Aid and ice pack. The staff after evaluating the situatin will take whatever steps are judged necessary t btain the apprpriate medical attentin. This may include the fllwing: cntacting the parent r authrized persn t pick up the child r transprt the child t the nearest hspital via ambulance. If 911 is called and the child is sent t the hspital, the Day Camp Directr will ntify the parents and Y Executive Directr immediately. If an emergency is such that the child is transprted t the hspital, a Y Day Camp Staff Member will accmpany the child. Parents will be ntified which hspital the child is being transprted t. The Y des nt prvide Accident Insurance fr yur child. This will be the respnsibility f the parent. PARENTAL COMMUNICATION Open cmmunicatin is very imprtant t the success f yur child s YMCA Camp experience. Parents are welcmed visitrs t ur prgrams. Please check daily fr psted ntices, flyers, r ther infrmatin. We welcme yur feedback regarding ur prgram at any time. Yu may direct suggestins, cncerns, cmpliments and cmplaints t the immediate Camp Staff r the Yuth Develpment Directr (Niclle Mre). The Y understands that accidents can happen, hwever if a child has mre than ne accident, they must be suspended frm the prgram and nt permitted t re-enter the prgram until they have been cmpletely tilet trained. SPORTS CAMP GENERAL INFORMATION Registratin and Fees T register fr Sprts Camp, cme by the Y, fill ut the registratin frm and pay the first week s Day Camp fee alng with a $20.00 nn-refundable depsit fr each additinal week f Sprts Camp yur child will be attending. 4

Sprts Camp Hurs Sprts Camp begins every day at 8:45 a.m. and cncludes at 11:45 a.m. Pick-up fr Sprts Camp Campers nt enrlled in Day Camp is at 11:45 at the lcatin f the Sprts Camp. Please make pick-up arrangements with the Day Camp r Sprts Camp Directr. Please remember that Sprts Camp participants must be signed ut with the Sprts Camp staff daily. Sprts Campers enrlled in the Y Day Camp will be transprted back t the Y and shuld be picked up by 6:00 p.m. each day. Sprts Campers wh wish t stay at the Y after Sprts Camp must be enrlled in Day Camp. Due t staffing, Sprts Campers will NOT be allwed t attend mrning field trips. Transprtatin The Y will prvide transprtatin t ff-site Sprts Camps. The vans will be leaving prmptly at 8:30 a.m. Thse reprting t ff-site lcatins shuld arrive at thse sites by 8:55 a.m. D NOT leave yur child unattended at an ff-site lcatin. Make sure that the Sprts Camp staff are in attendance befre yu leave. Once Sprts Camp cncludes, we will transprt Day Camp participants back t the Y. Staff The 2017 Y Sprts Camps are under the directin f the Greene Cunty YMCA Yuth Develpment Directr. Assisting will be qualified high schl, cllege, r pstgraduate individuals with current r previus sprt specific experience.
