LEISURE Planning consent has recently been secured for a significant leisure extension to Kingsgate, which will incorporate an 8 screen cinema operated by The Light, along with seven A3 units. The leisure extension will be accessed directly from the retail mall, enabling the restaurant operators to capitalise on the existing 8.5 million per annum retail footfall, in addition to the projected 350,000 per annum cinema customers. The leisure arcade will also be accessed directly from Cross Church Street, which is already established from an A3/A4 perspective, consolidating the pitch and creating a critical mass of leisure uses in the town centre. Construction is programmed to commence in early 2018, with units available for occupation in late 2019. A detailed construction programme is available upon request.
