The Honor Flight this year will be on Saturday, May 20; all are encouraged to volunteer or just come out to welcome the veterans home at the end of their flight. Page 8 Car #2 Norm Madsen From Norm s e-mail: I've come to the realization that I have too many old cars. I've decided to sell my newest old car. It is the Red over Black 1954 Packard that I have driven on so many TRAACA tours, shows and other events, and on a few Packard tours. This weekend, I am trailering it to Sarasota for the Florida Packard Club Meet, and putting a sign in the window. I want to give TRAACA members a chance at it first, as I'd like to see it stay in our club. If anyone in the club purchases it, I will make myself available for questions and advice. I have owned this Packard for 15 years, and know it intimately. It is a great driver, that I could get into and drive anywhere at a moment's notice. I've done lots of work on the car over the years to make it a safe and great handling driver. Specifics: 1954 Packard Cavalier aprox 52,000 miles from new 327ci Straight Eight, rebuilt aprox 10,000 miles ago. Starts and runs and drives very well. Chrysler 727 Automatic Transmission (Neal Davis converted the car from its Packard trans to the 727 for me ten years ago, and it is a huge improvement.) Factory PS, PB, Power Antenna, Signal-seeking AM Radio, all working Optima Battery and Cutoff Switch Original Air Conditioning---I never finished making it work, but have all the parts Heater Wide-whitewall radial tires Gas gauge is the only non-working item. I believe the sending unit is the problem, and I have a perfect spare. Vacuum wipers don't work well. I prefer Rain-X
Page 9 I Includes custom fit California Car Cover, which always is on the car except when I am driving it. Includes lots of documentation and receipts, albums and letters and photos of car's history and its restoration and from the TX dealership it was originally purchased from. Includes original owner's manual, copy of factory service manual, and some other literature. Probably some other stuff I can't think of now. I also have lots of spare parts available.
