2. day Rostock - Nykøbing, 42 km The Scandlines ferry brings you from Rostock Seaport to Gedser on the island of Falster in Denmark (approx. 2 hours). Now your bike tour begins! Via Marielyst you cycle to Nykøbing. On your way you marvel about artisans and small galleries. Enjoy the idyllic location of the small city, stroll through the narrow streets with charming houses from the 17th century, visit the 500 year old monastery church or climb the 47 steps of the distinctive water tower with fantastic views over the Guldborgsund. 3. day Nykøbing - Naestved, 78 km Across the green south of Zealand you cycle to the Danish west coast Naestved, one of the oldest cities in the country. Take a detour to Gavnø Castle and experience history, art and nature. Overnight stay in Næstved or surroundings. 4. day Naestved - Korsør, 65 km At the Great Belt you cycle to the northwest through a wide dune landscape along beautiful beaches. You might be delighted to visit the cozy fishing village Kaerebaeksminde with an idyllic atmosphere. A harbor tour is a treat for body and soul. Taste freshly caught herring and other delicacies from the sea. Enjoy the delicacies right on the water where the fish merchants have set up tables. It is recommended to visit one of the smokehouses or take a seat in one of the fine restaurants, before you continue to cycle to Korørs. 5. day Korsør - Sorø/Ringsted, 50-57 km Today you marvel at the Viking Fortress Trelleborg, which was built 981 and only unearthed again from 1934 to 1942. Nowadays this powerful ring castle is the best preserved of its kind and together with its museum, a visit will be a great experience. Continue to Ringsted, where you can admire the five-towered church. The old town with its crooked houses invites you to stroll. Overnight in Ringsted and surroundings. 6. day Sorø/Ringsted - Roskilde, 45-70 km Today you finally head for Copenhagen, you will cycle through the heartland to the coasts and fjords by Roskilde. Look forward to Roskilde, visit the magnificent red brick cathedral, one of de most important buildings in Denmark. Since the beginning of the 15th century, the cathedral was the preferred grave church of the Danish royal family. Take time for the Viking Museum with its five original Viking ships from the 11th century. Definitely you should take a walk through the city and have a look at the cozy, old grocery store Lützhøfts. Here, as once herring and candy bags are still handed over the counter. The store is set up the same as it looked around 1920. 7. day Roskilde - Copenhagen, 44 km Your last bike stage is cycled quickly and thus you can reach early Copenhagen. Enjoy this cosmopolitan city in 'pocket-size'. You can reach all sights over a short distance. Visit the Round Tower, Europe's oldest observatory, stroll through the port area, with its gabled houses and the Little Mermaid, visit Rosenborg Castle and Amalienborg, where the Danish royal family resided.
