The 9-10 boys won their first play in game before falling in the district. The 13-14 boys won their first play in game and advanced to the district championship losing by 2 points. The department hosted the 11-12 year old Division 1 state championship for the boys and girls. This tournament had teams from Myrtle Beach, North Charleston, Hartsville, Anderson, Maudlin, and Columbia. Our teams did not win but they enjoyed the extra practice and playing in the state championship. Baseball, softball, and spring soccer practices have begun and all the teams participated in the 2015 opening day ceremonies March 28 th. Although Mother Nature graced us with some early morning rain on Saturday we were still able to get the ceremony and games played. All enjoyed the day and the regular season will begin April 6 th. The NEW KinderKickIt soccer academy program for 6 & under participants has been a popular program with 46 participants; they train and play on Saturday mornings at the Central Park fields. Spring Adult Softball games started this month and there are 5 teams in the Men s league, 5 teams in the Co-ed league, and 4 teams in the Senior League. These leagues play during the week at the Park and Sports Complex. The Spring Soccer league had their organization meeting and games will begin in April.

Jolie informed everyone that KSCB has a Trash Tracker app available online and for smart phones for reporting littered areas and illegal dump sites Fifteen hundred feet of trail at the Park & Sports Complex were cleared on February 21. Areas of the main trail will be cleared on March 28 from 1:00 4:00 pm Monday after the Masters is Monday, April 13. KNMBB will have seven golf carts, two volunteers per cart, available for collecting trash and recycling The Diva Half Marathon Run is Sunday, April 12. Dee is coordinating volunteers for the KNMBB water stop The City Egg Hunt is Saturday, April 4. Volunteers are needed, beginning at 8 am Bags of candy for the Egg Hunt will be filled at 4:00 pm on April 2 at the Parks & Recreation Department New Business Julie Smith is the new representative to KNMBB from the North Myrtle Beach Department of Public Safety A waterway cleanup will be held on April 25th. More information to come Other Announcements A group from Barefoot Resort has adopted Water Tower Road. KNMBB will provide equipment to help with the cleanup Yaupon Garden Club will hold a cleanup of Vereen Gardens on April 18 Fifty-four beach accesses have been adopted to date Jay asked for suggestions for placement sites of the Don t pitch in the ditch and Don t feed bread to the ducks signs. Four sites were suggested and members are asked to be alert to other places where signs may be helpful Run for the Shelter 5k The 2 nd Run for the Shelter 5k was held at the Park & Sports Complex on Saturday, March 28 th. The 5k attracted 140 runners. There was also a 1 mile run where 50 participants ran with their dogs Optimist Club Bike Safety program /Trail building Day On Saturday March 28 th the Optimist Club and NMB police department held a bike safety program at the Park & Sports Complex. The program attracted 15 participants, more safety programs will be held in the future
Page 7 of 8 The Optimist Club, along with KNMBB and NMB high School Clubs did trail work on the new Grand Strand Water and Sewer trail by the Park & Sports Complex. The group cleared several hundred feet of trail BFF Pink ribbon Run This 5k and 10k event was held on Saturday, March 7 th at Barefoot Resort. The event attracted over 900 participants. All the money raised went to local cancer programs.
