INTRODUCTION - FOOTPRINT E F37 37.01 Page 1 01 - INTRODUCTION In addition to normal operations (revenue flights), operators are frequently faced with the need to perform technical flights: - following aircraft maintenance visits, - after major repair, - after painting. Flight Crew Knowledge, Skills and Attitude required for these technical flights go b eyond the ones expected from a standard airline pilot and for which they have been trained. Airbus proposes the airlines to build up Technical Flight Crews (TFC) made of: - Two pilots, qualified and current on the type with at least 6 month experience - One Technical Flight Engineer (TFE) who can be: A third pilot qualified on the type, or A Maintenance Engineer who has successfully followed the maintenance type rating course, or A Flight Operations Engineer who has followed an aircraft type familiarization course To support its customers in this need for enhanced safety and quality, Airbus is proposing a T echnical Flight Familiarization (TFF) course for its 320 family aircraft. Two Airbus Flight Test instructors run the course: - A Test pilot - A Flight Test Engineer Trainee s documentation package is made of: - In Service Aircraft Test Manual (ISATM) - TFF course notes handbook.
