During and after the battle, near 6000 soldiers were treated at Mont- Saint-Jean Farm. Discover the work of surgeons in times of war, with an impressive recontextualisation of the facts. Having heard that Waterloo beer restored energy and valour in those who drank it, the Duke of Wellington allowed his men to drink it on the eve of the Battle of Waterloo. The battle of Waterloo With the «PASS 1815» discover 7 attractions and museums bring the history of June 1815 to life. The Napoleon s Last Headquarters is the only Napoleonic museum in Belgium. The focus is placed on the events of the night of 17 June, when Napoleon was issuing his final orders before the battle. Don t miss the 4D film on the panoramic 25-metre screen! The Lion s Mound gives a unique view of the battlefield after a memorable climb of 226 steps. Perched atop this mound, the lion symbolizes the Battle of Waterloo. The Wellington Museum boasts a large collection of souvenirs from the time of the battle, including the rooms occupied by Wellington and his «aide de camp». Nestled in the fields, stands Hougoumont Farm. Its stunning interactive layout will make you feel as if you are in the very thick of the action. This fortified farm witnessed the fiercest fighting in the battle. Take advantage of the magnificent Solvay regional domain in the shade of its big centuryold trees. It is also home to the Fondation Folon and the Château de La Hulpe, constructed in 1842 and inspired by the châteaux in the Loire Valley.
