Local Area Guide Sloane Square and Belgravia Sloane Square and Belgravia are two of the most desirable and exclusive areas in London. There is both beautiful architecture and a strong history, whilst being rich in culture. Sloane Square has a fascinating history; the famous King s Road was built by King Charles II to provide a direct route from Hampton Court to Buckingham Palace. He also commissioned the landmark Chelsea Hospital in 1681. This stunning building was designed by Sir Christopher Wren and stands in beautiful grounds that host the famous annual Chelsea Flower Show. Belgravia has some of the most attractive buildings in London. The majority were built by the famous architect Thomas Cubitt in the 1820s and 30s and the area features some of the most famous addresses in the world such as Eaton Square and Belgrave Square.
